Paw and Order Training

Group training includes 6-week courses for puppies (12 weeks–1 year), Basic I (6 months+), Intermediate II (8 months+), and Advanced III. Each class meets once weekly for one hour. The AKC Canine Good Citizen program is a 7-week course with optional certification. Private lessons are one-on-one, ideal for refining specific skills. All programs use positive reinforcement. A free 15-minute consultation is required before enrollment to assess the dog’s level and placement.

Pricing Summary

Group classes are $200 for a 6-week program; private lessons are $70/hour or $35/30 minutes. AKC C.G.C. course is $200 plus title fee. Drop-in sessions are $30 for group classes and $40 for C.G.C. testing. All fees are payable in advance; no refunds after the first class. Boarding charges apply for drop-off and pick-up days. Grooming add-ons range from $10–$25.

Policies

All training fees are payable in advance to reserve a spot. No refunds are given after the first class date. Drop-off and pick-up for boarding must be scheduled by appointment between 7am–7pm. All boarders must have up-to-date vaccinations for Rabies, Distemper, and Bordetella. Returned checks incur a $30 fee.

Paw and Order Training, operated by Carrie F. Prest, C.M.G., offers dog obedience training for all breeds and all ages using only positive reinforcement methods. For dogs with aggressive behavioral issues, they refer clients to Bob Clark of Bob Clark’s Dog Training. All training services are conducted at their facility, and they offer a free 15-minute consultation to assess the dog’s needs and place them in the appropriate class level.

Additional services include dog boarding, grooming enhancements (Blueberry Facial, Paw Soak, Teeth Brushing, Shed Less Treatment, Skin Soothing Treatment), and referrals to local veterinarians and emergency clinics.

Accomplishments

Carrie F. Prest has over 40 years of experience in dog grooming and training. She earned a Master’s Degree from the National Dog Groomers Association of America in 1993. She was a member of Groom Team USA (1996–1998), competed in the Eurogroom World Team Competition in London, and won a silver medal. She earned “Best in Show” awards in Italy and internationally, and is an International Gold Medalist. She was nominated for the Cardinal Crystal Grooming Achievement Award in 2000. She is an AKC-recognized Canine Good Citizen Evaluator and Instructor and a member of the United Schutzhund Club of America.
