Puppy Kindergarten is for puppies 8 weeks to 4 months, focusing on positive relationships, dog behavior, play styles, housebreaking, name recognition, crate training, and basic obedience commands like sit, stay, come, and loose leash walking. It also touches on problem behavior prevention.

Puppy Kindergarten 2 is for puppies 4 months to 1 year, serving as continued training for PK I students. It includes play and socialization, and focuses on advanced obedience skills in new environments with distractions, leash walking, calming in distractions, down/stay, place, and introduces agility equipment for confidence building. A prerequisite is a previous training class or private training session with Paw Planet.

Paws on the Ground is an off-site class for dogs of all ages who are previous Paw Planet students. It is designed to apply obedience skills in real-world settings, helping dogs engage with their environment, practice obedience, work around distractions, and boost confidence.

Basic Obedience is a 5-week course for dogs of all ages, teaching commands such as sit, down, stay, ok, come when called, go lie down, drop it, and an informal heel. The class emphasizes obtaining and maintaining dog focus, with all exercises performed on leash and no play time.

Scent Games is a 4-week course for all ages, designed to develop a dog’s natural scenting abilities using their curiosity, desire to hunt, and love of toys, food, and exercise. It aims to provide fun, build confidence, and expend mental and physical energy.

Intermediate Obedience is for all ages and previous Paw Planet students, building upon skills learned in Basic I or PK2. It aims to improve a dog’s ability to focus by teaching them to turn to the owner in the presence of stressors. All exercises are performed on leash with no play time, and fun learning games using agility equipment or Scent Games are introduced to build confidence.

Trick Training is for all ages, designed to be fun and challenging. Dogs learn simple tricks like crawl and rollover, and more complex tricks such as jumping over arms, weaving through legs, and “say your prayers.” Each weekly class covers 2-3 tricks with corresponding handouts, improving communication and building confidence.

Private Training Sessions are available by appointment for all ages, offering flexibility with in-home or in-store options. Free private pre-puppy sessions are also available by appointment, providing comprehensive information on bringing a new puppy home and housebreaking strategies.
