Paws-a-tive Dog Training offers various classes and services. Private Obedience Training (in-home) includes Obedience 1 (foundation work for dogs 4 months+), Obedience 2 (continuing foundation, positions, distractions, leash work), and Obedience 3 (elevating Distance, Duration, Distraction, true heel position). All private classes must be used within 65 days.

Group classes include “Out and About” Obedience (for dogs 4 months+, focusing on foundational behaviors, manners, socialization) and “Dog Adventures” (for dogs 4 months+, focusing on fun, socialization, and basic manners in various locations). Service Dog Training is offered for Medical Alert, Mobility-Assist, and PTSD/Psychiatric, requiring testing out of obedience levels and passing AKC Canine Good Citizen tests.

Rally & Fit Dog Level 1-3 Combo group classes improve attention, confidence, flexibility, and strength, with options for AKC Rally and Fit Dog titles. Timid or Overexcited Dog Workshops are available in group or private formats, addressing confidence building and self-regulation, starting with an initial behavior assessment. Customized training options are also available.

Pricing & Policies

Pricing Summary

A 45-minute “Bare Bones” consultation costs $40. Private obedience classes are $35 for a 50-minute session. Group classes, including “Out and About” Obedience and “Dog Adventures,” are $25 per 50-minute session. Rally & Fit Dog group classes are $35 per 50-minute session.

Timid or Overexcited Dog Workshops are $35 for a 50-minute group class and $55 for a 50-minute private class. Pet sitting is $25 for a single 30-minute daytime visit or $40 for two 30-minute daytime visits, with discounted rates for routine services and no extra charge for additional dogs. Pricing for Service Dog Training requires direct contact.

Policies

For private obedience training, all classes must be used within 65 days of purchase. For pet sitting, payments must be received no later than 24 hours in advance. Cancellations for pet sitting over 48 hours will be refunded, with a possible service fee depending on the payment method. No refunds are given for pet sitting cancellations within 48 hours. Keyless entry or a lockbox is preferred for pet sitting due to insurance requirements.

About the Trainer

Paws-a-tive Dog Training LLC is owned by Cathy, who has been around dogs and animals all her life. The business focuses on individualized training sessions, recognizing that group classes can be overwhelming or generic for some dogs and owners. They emphasize positive training methods and aim to help dogs achieve their best version of themselves.

They offer a variety of services including puppy/adult dog classes, service dog training, workshops for timid or overexcited dogs, specialized training, pet sitting, and exclusive daycare/boarding for existing clients. Accomplishments

Cathy, the owner, graduated from an accredited training facility and completed a program specializing in Service Dog Training. She is an APDT Professional Member and IAABC Foundation Member, regularly taking classes and seminars to stay current.

Cathy is also an AKC Evaluator, AKC Fit Instructor, AKC Temperament Judge, and AKC Fetch Judge. Paws-a-tive Dog Training is an approved AKC FIT DOG CLUB. Cathy has over 8 years of Service/Assistance Dog experience, having worked for an Assistance Dog International accredited 501c/3 company and a local training facility.

How to Get Started!

To get started, clients can schedule a “Bare Bones” in-home consultation for $40, which provides basic obedience tips and resources. Daycare and boarding services are exclusive to existing clients, who can book a consultation or training to become a client. Clients can also use the contact page to schedule services or inquire about customized training.
