Paws on Gresham offers several programs. The standard Dog Training program consists of 5, one-hour sessions that include a mix of training and dog play for socializing. Training assessments, which are an hour long, must be completed prior to starting this program. Training covers commands such as sit/stay, down, heeling, walking on a leash, no jumping, socializing with other dogs, and greeting other dogs. Treats are used for teaching but eventually phased out.
The Dog Training Camp is a 2-week board and train program where the dog stays for the entire duration. At the end of the stay, owners participate in an hour-long working session with the trainer to learn techniques and variables about their dog. This service provides a good obedience foundation, but it does not include additional follow-up visits. Discounted lessons are available if further assistance is needed. This camp also covers sit/stay, down, heeling, walking on a leash, no jumping, socializing with other dogs, and greeting other dogs.
Dog Boarding provides a structured day for dogs on an acre of property. Dogs wake at 7 AM for an hour outside, followed by breakfast. They then play outside, often with other dogs, and can enjoy a small swimming pool. After a nap around 2 PM, they play again at 4 PM, have dinner at 5 PM, and have more playtime before bedtime between 6 PM and 7 PM.
Testimonials
“I used Leanne and her team for my 1yr old black lab Maui. He did a 2 week board and train where he was cared for, ran around a closed fenced area, swam, played with other dogs, and was not just in a kennel run all day like most other boarding places. He is a special needs dog and has to eat from an elevated step stool, take pills twice a day, and hard food water down until it is soft. With Leanne’s training program he now listens to commands from me, my wife, and our guests who visit the house. If you have a puppy or dog that needs training or boarding I would HIGHLY recommend Paws on Gresham Dog training. Not only do they care for your dog, they help give you the tools to reinforce training habits, and have extremely reasonable rates.”
