Dog Training Methodology
Pawsitive Love Foundation provides highly trained service dogs to veterans with conditions such as PTSD, TBI, MST, and mobility issues, and to children with epilepsy and autism. They utilize a “bred for purpose” breeding program, primarily with Labradors and German Shepherd Dogs, and carefully match dogs to their handlers.
The training process includes advanced obedience, public access skills, and specific task work tailored to the recipient’s needs. They also offer a puppy raiser program for individuals to foster and socialize future service dogs from 6 months to 1 year of age.

Testimonials
“The night I got Liberty Bell I stuck a .45 in my mouth. I wanted a permanent solution. Now that I have Liberty in my life – the way she acts and responds to me – I no longer have that propensity.”
– Rob Fry
“Three years ago, I would’ve told you service dogs were bunk…just a way for people to take their pets out. But a dog who is trained to perform these specific tasks is actually an extension of that person – a prosthetic.”
– Rob Fry
About the Trainer
Pawsitive Love Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing highly trained service dogs to children and veterans at no cost. They are recognized as the “GOLD Standard in Service Dog Training.”
They operate as full-time professional dog trainers with a dedicated facility to support ‘bred for purpose’ dogs throughout their training journey, leading to placement with a handler. Their approach emphasizes carefully matching dogs to their handlers, avoiding random pairings.
For veterans, they provide service dogs to assist with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Traumatic Brain Injury, Military Sexual Trauma, and Mobility Assistance. For children, their service dogs help mitigate challenges associated with Epilepsy and Autism, aiming to restore independence and reduce family stress.
The foundation runs a proven breeding program, primarily working with Labradors and German Shepherd Dogs, and offers a puppy raiser program for individuals interested in fostering puppies from 6 months to about 1 year old. They are also developing an Adaptive Play & Training Center to provide a safe and stimulating environment for service dogs.
Accomplishments
Pawsitive Love Foundation states they are the “GOLD Standard in Service Dog Training.” Their training facility, “What’s Up Dog?”, won “Best in Destin” honors for 2018.
