PAWS’itive Pals offers Phone Consult/In-Home Training for those seeking an in-home experience, addressing “puppy doom” before vaccinations, or needing harmony at home with tool use. The Peaceful Integration program builds well-balanced companions, with sessions for puppies under 6 months on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings (7:30am-12:00pm), and for dogs over 6 months on Tuesday or Thursday afternoons (12:30pm-5:00pm).

The Basic Obedience course teaches vocal commands such as Sit, Down, Stay, Come, Watch Me, Leave It, and Loose Lead Walking. This course incorporates practical “Town Training” assessments in dog-friendly Downtown Grass Valley and prepares dogs and owners for the AKC Canine Good Citizenship test. Additional services include puppy training, obedience classes, behavioral consultations, agility training, and private sessions, all tailored to individual needs.

The facility has a comprehensive Emergency Weather and Fire Evacuation plan. This plan includes regular evacuation drills practiced on Daylight Savings Time, and new hires are trained upon joining the team. Emergency contacts for local authorities and animal services are maintained and accessible to all staff.

Semi-annual facility assessments are conducted to identify fire hazards and ensure fire safety equipment is available. Staff are trained in emergency protocols with assigned roles for gathering crates, packing supplies, opening neighbor gates, gathering training tools, and turning off utilities. Designated assembly points and evacuation routes are established. The facility has a maximum capacity of 16 dogs, with sufficient crates and vehicle space for safe animal transfer. Comprehensive animal records are kept via a staff app portal for quick access during emergencies. Communication with owners is maintained through a company portal group chat.

PAWS’itive Pals Dog Training Facility has previously served as a shelter during disasters in Nevada County. Team members have volunteered in evacuation and transportation efforts during various fire incidents.
