Testimonials

We have a 10 month old Bernese Mountain Dog named Gus. I recently retired and very much want my “Second Act” to be working with Gus as a therapy dog with children and the elderly. He has a great heart for it but we really needed help getting him on track with his basic training. He had some health issues that prevented us from doing classroom training when he was younger and we chose Mackenzie’s board and train option to get us jump started. We have had Gus back home with us for a couple of weeks and seen an amazing transformation. He is a big boy (about 120 lbs) and I am comfortable walking him on a gentle leader and taking him into public settings. We also have my grandchildren ( 1 and 3 years old) staying with us currently and he is so much calmer socializing with them. We can’t wait to continue our work towards the goal of therapy dog for Gus and we know that Mackenzie will be there with us every step of the way.

I’ll start by saying every. single. trainer. we sought, denied us and we could not be happier about that. We have a 6 yr old Pitbull with one dog bite to his name, severe anxiety and some intense situations with the mail person. Mackenzie is without a doubt the most caring dog trainer you will find. She is very thorough in her methods. From the begining all she wanted to do was help and that meant more to us than she would know. Her positive reinforcement training has helped enormously with pressure and we continue to work with her to this day.

I can not thank MacKenzie enough for the work she did with our dog. It was a rescue who we just couldn’t figure out how to entertain or communicate with. Within 2 sessions, our lives changed dramatically! MacKenzie has a way to assess the dog and humans to find out what the best course of action should be taken. Life saver for sure!!
