Pawsitive Step Dog Training offers both private and group training. Group classes include Puppy Obedience, Pet Dog Obedience, Beginner Trick Training, and AKC CGC Preparation, each consisting of 6 one-hour sessions. Puppy Obedience focuses on manners, problem-solving, self-control, and confidence for puppies 8 weeks to 6 months old who have at least had their second puppy shot. Pet Dog Obedience is for dogs 6 months and older, covering focus, sit, down, come, stay, self-control, and polite leash walking, aiming to improve owner communication skills.
Beginner Trick Training prepares dogs for the AKC Novice Trick Dog title, teaching tricks like speak, crawl, give five, shake, and spin. AKC CGC Preparation helps dogs and owners prepare for the AKC Canine Good Citizen title, focusing on skills like polite greetings, leash manners, focus in crowds, and accepting friendly strangers. Currently, only private lessons are offered on Saturdays, with one opening available starting September 21st at 11:00 am for private lessons. Intermediate Agility is an ongoing Saturday class from 9:30 am to 10:30 pm, but currently has no spots available.

Group classes are priced at $140 for a set of 6 one-hour classes. Private lesson pricing is available upon request. All services are final and non-refundable.

About the Trainer
Pawsitive Step Dog Training is led by Cassy Crowell, a dedicated dog trainer with a lifelong passion for canine education. She has been training dogs since childhood, starting with family pets, and has since pursued extensive formal training in various dog sports and obedience disciplines. Cassy continuously enhances her expertise through classes from the Denise Fenzi Academy and other online platforms.
The business offers both private and group training, specializing in areas such as problem-solving, clicker training, AKC Canine Good Citizen preparation, trick training, agility, and general puppy and dog obedience. Cassy was mentored by Mary Hunter of Dogs A’ Flying Dog Training LLC, and she has successfully guided many students to achieve titles in local agility events.
Pawsitive Step Dog Training aims to foster better communication between dogs and their owners, leading to more harmonious lives together. The trainer’s personal dogs, including Border Collies Lily and Volt, and a Golden Retriever/Border Collie mix Lyka, are highly accomplished in various dog sports, demonstrating the effectiveness of her training methods.
Accomplishments
The trainer has been training dogs since childhood and has taken classes in obedience, agility, Rally FrEe, and canine freestyle. They continuously improve their knowledge through the Denise Fenzi Academy and other online classes. The trainer was mentored by Mary Hunter from Dogs A’ Flying Dog Training LLC.
The trainer’s Border Collie, Lily, has earned numerous titles including PDCH-Silver Platinum V-NATCH-G 2, CGC, TKP, and various agility titles, competing at USDAA Cynosport Agility Nationals. Lily is the first dog in Idaho to receive her Rally FrEe Intermediate/Advanced Skills title. They also perform with the Dancing Dogs of Boise Freestyle Team. Other dogs, Lyka and Volt, also hold CGC titles and agility achievements, with Volt earning his AKC Trick Dog Novice Title at 7 months old. Comet, a new puppy, completed his AKC Trick Dog Novice title at 16 weeks old.
How to Get Started!
To get started, clients can fill out a contact form on the website, providing their name, email, phone number, details about their dog (name, age, special considerations), the class they are interested in, and their preferred contact method (Email, Phone, Text). Phone calls will be returned no later than the Saturday following the request.
