Group classes include Basic Manners I & II (5 weeks, $120) covering foundational behaviors like Come, Wait/Stay, Sit, Down, Loose Leash Walking, and addressing problem behaviors such as jumping and door manners. Basic Manners II focuses on reliability in real-world settings and teaches the safety behavior “Leave it!”. Loose Leash Walking is a 6-week class for $139. Specialty classes, which require Basic Manners I as a prerequisite, prepare dogs for AKC Canine Good Citizen tests, Therapy & Service Dog evaluations, Intro to Rally, AKC Tricks, and Platform Training for Sports. Please note that group classes are currently not being conducted.

Private lessons begin with a 90-minute in-home consultation for $119, where a customized training plan is designed. They specialize in puppies, addressing potty training, crate training, basic commands, puppy biting, socialization, resource guarding, separation anxiety, and jumping. A discount package of 4 one-hour lessons is available for $269, with an additional fee for in-home visits.

Board and Train programs cost $100/day, typically lasting 2-4 weeks. Dogs stay with the trainer, receiving 2-3 short training sessions daily plus random reinforcement. This program is suitable for those with busy schedules or for more challenging training goals, such as service dog work. A mandatory private lesson at the end of the stay is not included in the price. Home-Style Boarding is also offered at $35-$40/day, providing a home environment with a large backyard and indoor playroom, where friendly dogs play under supervision. Dogs must be crate trained for boarding.

Testimonials

“I have a 6 year old Border Collie and have spent 6 frustrating years with other trainers trying to train him. Forget Cesar, shock collars, prong collars and punishment methods. Marty teaches positive clicker training and helps you develop a relationship with your dog. He’s the answer to all my frustration as my dog now listens to me, looks at me with excitement and happiness and is so much fun now. Marty is great!!! I highly recommend him!”
– Kate P. Cottonwood, CA.

“My puppy just finished a 3 week board and train program with Marty and came home to me yesterday. He’s a soft sensitive Jack Russell Terrier and Marty’s technique really has given him a boost of confidence. Our first sessions today were so much fun and very rewarding for us both. This positive training method is as close to developing an actual language between you and your dog as you can get. Thank you Marty.”
– DESI T. SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, CA.

“We’ve been working with Marty since we got our new puppy… (housetraining, socializing, basic commands, etc.). Marty is patient, consistent, and reliable. He explains training in a very straightforward, clear way and reinforces his teaching with handouts to support your implementation when you’re on your own. The methods he uses works, and if you’re willing to put in the time you’ll be thrilled with the results.”
– Sarah R. Redding, CA.
