Testimonials
I can’t say enough good things about Bridgett at Pawsome Pups Dog Training. When we first started, Winnie was shy and unsure of herself, but through patience, positive reinforcement, and a deep understanding of dog behavior, Bridgett has completely transformed her. Winnie now greets new situations with more confidence and enthusiasm, and she’s learned an impressive list of skills–everything from basic obedience to polite leash manners.
What sets Bridgett apart is not just technical knowledge but the ability to read a dog’s personality and adjust methods accordingly. Training sessions are always upbeat and engaging, and Winnie clearly looks forward to them–her tail starts wagging the moment she sees Bridgett. I’ve also learned so much as an owner: clear, easy-to-follow tips for reinforcing good behavior at home have made a world of difference.
If you’re looking for a trainer who can bring out the best in your dog with kindness, skill, and genuine care, I wholeheartedly recommend Bridgett at Pawsome Pups Dog Training. Winnie is happier, more confident, and better behaved thanks to her guidance.

I would definitely recommend training with Bridget. We will be going to our sixth follow up training session today, and the leaps my dog has made are impressive. My dog has been very dog reactive and yesterday she was able to walk past a dog significantly larger than her and stay focused on me. Bridget’s dog, Enya, is a super star at helping nervous dogs learn that it is safe to be around other dogs.
– Client
Excellent dog trainer, knowledge beyond the average dog trainers I’ve worked with in the past. She had a sixth sense with working with my dog with severe issues. She was my 4th trainer for my dog and fixed all the problems 4 other dog trainers failed at. I can recommend her enough and will be forever grateful for her knowledge and helping me and my dog!

About the Trainer
Bridget Taber, CPDT-KA, is a certified positive reinforcement dog trainer based in Hillsboro, VA, serving dog owners across Loudoun County, Northern Virginia, Maryland, and West Virginia. She specializes in behavior modification for dog-reactive and people-reactive dogs, offering both private in-home sessions and group classes at her training facility. Bridget uses only reward-based methods, avoiding choke, pinch, and shock collars, and emphasizes understanding dog behavior through science-backed techniques. She offers Puppy Kindergarten, Elementary and Intermediate Manners, AKC Canine Good Citizen, AKC Trick classes, and an “Out On The Town” public access class. Bridget also provides personalized training for separation anxiety, fearfulness, and other complex behavioral issues, and has successfully rehabilitated severely abused dogs, including Thomas of Romania, who now serves as a training ambassador. Her own dogs are titled in Nose Work, demonstrating her expertise in advanced training methods.
Bridget’s approach is rooted in her background in natural horsemanship and her personal experience with her German Shepherds, leading her to abandon aversive methods after witnessing their negative impact. She continues her education and mentors clients on how to communicate clearly with their dogs using positive reinforcement, helping owners become confident, consistent trainers.
Her facility is located on a 31-acre farm with ample space for training, and she provides detailed directions for visitors. Bridget also shares educational resources, including articles from AVSAB and Victoria Stilwell, and maintains active YouTube and Facebook channels featuring training tips and success stories.
Accomplishments
