Perfection Kennel

Perfection Kennel offers a variety of training programs. The Puppy Program is a 30-day foundation for pups aged 4 to 6 months and older, introducing them to birds, gun acclimation, the HERE command, e-collar, and field handling. It includes a required take-home session but does not teach WHOA.
nnThe Finish Program is a three-month course for adult or older gun-acclimated puppies, teaching HEEL, WHOA, STEADY TO WING (or SHOT AND FALL), and backing. It focuses on building bird dogs and requires owner participation at pickup.
nnRetrieve Training is a 4-6 week program for a dependable retrieve, using minimal pressure. Gun Shy/Gun Acclimation addresses gun shyness with positive association, requiring individual evaluation and a two-week trial.
nnThey also offer 4-day Clinics & Seminars for owners to learn training methods, hosted at their Oklahoma grounds and other locations. Summer Camp is an August-September program in North Dakota for wild bird work. Field Trial Prep focuses on developing trial dogs and training owners for competition, with owner participation being a must.

Pricing Summary

Puppy Program is $1500 plus birds. The Finish Program is $2000 per month plus birds. Retrieve Training is $1500 per dog plus birds. Summer Camp pricing requires a call for availability. Payment options include Venmo, PayPal, and check. A 3% fee is added for Venmo or PayPal payments. A deposit is required.

All dogs accepted must have an official certificate of health. Owners are required to attend a take-home session upon pickup to ensure understanding of commands and handling. Once enrolled, clients must contact the kennel two weeks prior to their estimated drop-off date to confirm, as the kennel will not initiate contact. Gun shy dogs are accepted on a two-week trial basis for evaluation. A 3% fee is added for payments made via Venmo or PayPal.

nnPerfection Kennels is a licensed facility by the state of Missouri and is regularly inspected to ensure the health and well-being of the dogs. All accepted dogs must have an official certificate of health. They offer full-service training programs for all types of bird dog owners, from weekend hunters to serious field trialers, training dogs from across the United States. Perfection Kennel is recognized as one of the most successful Pointing Dog Training Facilities in the United States. They have trained numerous Champions and National Champions across various breeds and field trial disciplines, including retrieving stakes, Amateur, Open, Walking, and Horseback. They are also trainers of countless hunting companions nationwide.
nnJon Hann, the owner/operator, is considered one of the top trainers in the U.S., with achievements in both trial/hunt test champions and successful hunting dogs. In 2022, Perfections Huckleberry won the NGSPA OSD Invitational. Perfection Kennels originated the 3-month training program 23 years ago.
