Testimonials

“Amanda was able to help instill a structure of obedience for our bitey and rambunctious puppy. She is professional, kind and highly communicative. We appreciated the value for the services and will be using her in the future for service dog training for our household.”
– Karon

“I want to give a shout out to Amanda with Perspective K9! Our dog has some issues and Amanda was very attentive and thorough with my concerns. Very professional and personable! I felt very at ease knowing Amanda was looking after our pets. Give her a call. You won’t be disappointed!”
– Sandra

“Amanda is great! She is an excellent trainer and definitely knows her stuff! She is so good with my 2 Rhodesian Ridgebacks. I feel like we learn valuable skills with each and every session. I also appreciate that she comes to us, because my boys aren’t the fondest of car-rides (yet). I feel that my boys’ training is more tailored to them and their surroundings. I HIGHLY recommend her!”
– Caroline

About the Trainer

Perspective K9 Training, founded by Amanda Jones in June 2024, is a dog training and pet care business serving Howard County and surrounding areas in Indiana. Amanda offers personalized in-home and on-site dog training tailored to each dog’s unique perception, emotions, and history, avoiding one-size-fits-all methods. She uses a balanced approach incorporating all four conditioning quadrants—positive reinforcement, negative reinforcement, positive punishment, and negative punishment—to address behaviors safely and effectively. In addition to private obedience training, she provides board and train programs (2–8 weeks), in-home pet sitting and boarding (for training clients only), walks and drop-in visits, field trips, pet transport, and basic grooming. Amanda’s home-based services create a comfortable, individualized environment, and she specializes in working with reactive, fearful, and high-energy dogs, including large and giant breeds. Her deep experience with dogs, horses, pigs, and exotic animals ensures compassionate, knowledgeable care. She also offers ongoing support and adjusts training plans based on progress and environmental factors.

Amanda holds a Bachelor’s degree in Animal Sciences from Purdue University and is a NePoPo® Silver and Gold graduate with an E-collar certification. She is currently training to become a PSA Trial Decoy and competes in PSA with her personal dogs. Her training philosophy emphasizes understanding canine emotions, respecting past experiences, and building trust to create lasting behavioral change.

Clients appreciate her patience, communication, and ability to work with challenging cases, including reactive mastiffs, rambunctious labs, and fearful puppies. All services are offered in the client’s home or at her facility, with flexible scheduling and a client portal for booking.

She is fully covered by PetCare Business Insurance and uses Time to Pet software for scheduling and invoicing.
