Testimonials

We love Pet State University! We found them over 10 years ago when we were looking for boarding for our mastiffs. We wanted a positive experience for our dogs while we were on vacation. We found it in Pet state U! A home environment and loving attention. Our dogs get lots human interaction and play with other dog borders. No doggy prison (cement and chain link kennels). Drew and Michele are genuinely good people who are accommodating to special requests and send us lots of photos so we can see our fur babies while we are away! We love pet State University and our dogs do too!

These guys do it all! They train, board, provide daycare and they love your pet(s) like their own. They bring experiences and expertise that you won’t find in other facilities. They are life savers for those pet lovers who are ridiculously picky about who is allowed to take care of their pets. Our Arnie loves going and waits by the door in the morning, just in case…!

They have worked and trained my labs and done an excellent job. Would not use anybody else. Very highly recommended. Thanks for the care and training of my animals. You’re the best.

About the Trainer

Pet State University & HomeStyle Boarding is a dog training and boarding business owned by Michele and Drew Delgross, who have over 70 years of combined experience training animals, including dogs, marine mammals, birds of prey, and exotic pets. They offer in-home private dog training sessions that involve the entire family, focusing on positive behavior modification techniques. Their training is conducted in the client’s home, parks, cars, and other real-world environments to ensure behaviors are consistently applied. They also provide luxury in-home dog boarding where dogs play in a large grass yard, interact with other animals, and have 24/7 attention. Their training programs are structured as “Dogree” packages — Associate, Bachelor, and Masters — each offering bundled lessons with training materials, clickers, treat pouches, and manuals. They offer summer discounts and serve clients across Ohio, the Midwest, and beyond, including out-of-state and international clients. They have trained dogs for over three decades and maintain long-term relationships with many families, including multi-generational pet owners.

They previously offered group classes but paused them post-COVID; however, they can schedule group sessions at external locations like parks or churches with advance approval. Their training philosophy emphasizes real-world application, requiring behaviors to be mastered by all family members, not just the trainer. They also provide consultation and evaluation services, which are mandatory for aggression or socialization issues.

In addition to training and boarding, they operate a pet boarding facility in their home, offer dog daycare, and have previously run an exotic pet store. They are known for personalized service, sending photos to boarding clients, and accommodating special requests, including pick-ups from airports.

They have trained zoological keepers, consulted with national pet food manufacturers, and worked internationally in Canada and France.
