“I did the 6 week advanced puppy training class with Peter. Overall it was a great experience with a few notes for improvement. Peter was really nice and gave clear guidance and instruction. I’m not sure about other classes, but our class only had three pups so it was easier to keep the pups focused.

The training area was a little on the small side, even with just three small pups. So it was difficult sometimes when doing exercises that required walking around. We eventually moved some training work to the store area to add distractions, but I think my pup would have benefited more from starting out in a bigger space.

I also wished I got more individualized adjustments based on the specific things my dog was doing (or not doing). I felt a lot of information/adjustments were pretty general – a lot of which I had already read or seen on various training social media pages.

We also were told that we would not be receiving completion certificates on graduation day due to the store having “reached their budget.” I don’t fault the trainer at all, but this was a BIG bummer. After six weeks of in-class and at-home training and over $100 spent…come on. You couldn’t afford to print out three pieces of paper? We were told we could MAYBE come pick them up in several weeks, but I think they should be mailed to us.

I think this class is great for first-time dog owners or folks who feel overwhelmed with training on their own. Not sure if I would do it all over again. To be honest, I did the majority of my pup’s training myself before this and probably could have kept training him alone. I might return only to take the Good Citizen Test, as I plan to make my pup a therapy dog.”
