The first was a relatively large class (about six dogs) whereas the second class was small (only two dogs). In both classes Steven was able to carry out the different training elements in an exemplary manner, giving equal attention to all ‘students’ in his class. Steven was able to form bonds with all dogs and was able to gage their individual training levels and needs. It is clear that Elle loved coming to class and she was always very excited to see Steven. In addition, and maybe as important, Steven was able to train us (the dog owners) – we learned about how to best interact with our dog during a training session – to pay attention to proper spatial relations between the dog and trainer, tone of voice while giving commands and general manners conducive to a good training environment.
