Testimonials
“Helen at Piper’s Place is a GODSEND! She has truly changed our lives. Our pup was absolutely terrible on the leash when we first reached out to her and had a very hard time calming down in the house. He is now a dream on his leash and walks are so pleasant with him! He can calm down when he needs to and has learned to be “bored.” If you’re even thinking about training for your dog, reach out to Helen! She is so kind, understanding, and nonjudgmental. She truly loves dogs and it shows. We absolutely adore her!”
– The Bucci family & their dog, Ziggy
“We cannot recommend Piper’s Place enough! Our rescue lab mix puppy did a 5-week board and train with Helen and Piper’s Place. It is amazing how much our lives have improved since our Clover did her training with Helen! Clover used to be very very scared in new situations and new environments, and now she is confident. It has allowed her playfulness to really shine through, and our young kids can play safely with her.
You can tell Helen truly loves what she does, and she is an amazing teacher — both to the dogs and the human owners who she empowers to have such a better, richer relationship with their dogs. She emphasizes progress over perfection and is responsive with questions. Helen’s training is worth every cent – we will always be so grateful to her!”
– The Barwig family & their dog, Clover
“Working with Helen at Piper’s Place has been LIFE CHANGING. She took our dog, Phoebe, who could bounce off the walls and ceiling with her energy & taught her (and US) incredibly useful tools to channel her focus and express her love for all people and dogs in a more tolerable way. What used to be a high-energy anxiety ridden puppy has become a great young dog who we can take anywhere (see pic for evidence, she stayed under my chair for an entire patio dinner which I never would have thought possible). We did the 4 week board and train and I wouldn’t have it any other way!”
– Piper, Tom & their dog, Phoebe
About the Trainer
Piper’s Place Dog Training, LLC is a licensed and insured professional dog training business serving western Kentucky and middle Tennessee, founded by Helen Rogers, a certified dog trainer and former veterinary technician with over a decade of experience. Helen offers personalized training solutions including private lessons, group classes, day training, and hybrid board-and-train camps designed to build obedience, confidence, and strong owner-dog bonds. Her holistic approach focuses on mental and physical well-being, not just commands, with training tailored to each dog’s unique temperament and needs. Clients benefit from in-home and facility-based training, client-exclusive boarding at $50/night, free group classes, and comprehensive graduation guides. Helen’s background as a vet tech gives her deep insight into behavioral health, and her empathetic, nonjudgmental coaching helps owners feel empowered rather than overwhelmed. Her training philosophy centers on positive reinforcement, clear communication, and creating lasting change through consistency and trust.
Piper’s Place stands out by offering hybrid board-and-train programs where dogs stay Monday–Friday and return home weekends, allowing owners to stay involved while ensuring intensive, structured training. Training camps include field trips to real-world environments like stores and parks to build confidence and reliability. All programs include essential gear, ongoing support, and access to a supportive community of clients.
The business is named after Helen’s first dog, Piper, a mixed-breed who inspired her compassionate, individualized training style. Every dog, like Piper, is seen as unique and worthy of patient, science-backed guidance.
