Power Kennels offers two main training programs: Basic Obedience and Gun Dog Training, both for dogs 4 months and older. The Basic Obedience program is a 6-week intensive course where dogs learn commands such as heel, sit, stay, here, down (for jumping), and kennel. Dogs stay at the facility for the entire program, and owners are encouraged to join training sessions after the first two weeks.
The Gun Dog Training program starts with basic obedience and progresses to collar conditioning, force fetch, force to pile, formal marking, casting, and introduction to guns, birds, and water. This program aims to build a solid foundation for running blinds and ensures owners understand how to handle their gun dog in the field. Power Kennels also runs AKC and UKC field trials with the gun dogs.
