Precious K9s offers a variety of dog training programs in private, group, and online settings for all breeds, ages, and stages. Their core group classes include “All Paws In” (Level 1), a 3-month course for puppies, adolescents, and adult dogs focusing on basic behaviors, self-control, and socialization, with up to 12 semi-private sessions. “Ultimate K9” (Level 2) is a 3-month advanced course for graduates of “All Paws In,” building on learned behaviors with higher distraction levels and preparing dogs for real-life situations and sports.

Advanced courses include Rally-Obedience, Obedience, Conformation, Advanced Trick Dog, K9 Fitness, and Therapy training. Online programs feature a “Potty Training Boot Camp” and an online “Trick Dog Teams” group. Day Training is a VIP program where dogs train two days a week for five weeks, focusing on structured fun and addressing behaviors like basic training, obedience, coming when called, and off-leash training. They also offer Therapy Dog Training, which includes “Therapy Prep” (4-week session) and “Dogs With a Job” (individually scheduled on-site visits), leading to certification as a Precious K9s Therapy Team.

Pricing Summary

For private coaching prices, clients are asked to send an email to 417preciousk9s@gmail.com. The Dog Day Training package costs $999 for 10 days, which includes two days of training per week over five weeks. Arena rental is available through monthly ($60), quarterly ($180), or 6-month ($325) membership subscriptions. Pay-as-you-go arena rental is also offered at $20 for 30 minutes, $25 for 1 hour, and $30 for 1.5 hours. Before and after-hours care for day training is available for an additional $20 per 30 minutes.

Policies

Up-to-date shot record documentation is required for class participation, including at least one round of Parvo and the Bordetella booster for puppies, and yearly boosters and Rabies shot (if old enough) for older dogs. Dogs will be dismissed without proof, with no refund. For arena rental, no refunds are given if cancellation is not alerted by email within 48 hours of the scheduled visit. A liability agreement must be signed upon entry for arena rental. Precious K9s no longer offers single 6-week group stand-alone classes.

Accomplishments

Carrie Galvan is a Certified Behavior Consultant Canine (CBCC) and was a Certified Professional Dog Trainer (CPDT) from 2011-2023, certified by the Council for Professional Dog Trainers. She is also a Certified Trick Dog Instructor (CTDI) with Do More With Your Dog and an AKC Evaluator for Canine Good Citizen, Tricks, and Temperament tests. Carrie has been a consultant for animal businesses and organizations for 25 years and served as the Behavior Expert on the Animal Issues Task Force that rewrote Dangerous/Vicious Dog Legislation in Springfield, MO. She is noted as the only CBCC within three hours of Springfield.

Other trainers include Lisa King, a Certified Trick Dog Instructor, AKC Evaluator, and AKC Fit Dog Instructor, who leads the Therapy Dog Teams. Sarah Schroeder is an AKC and UKC judge for Obedience and Scent Work. Jill Musser was KPA certified by the Karen Pryor Academy for years and specializes in puppies. Theresa Bettmann is a Canine-Assisted Intervention Specialist certified by the University of Denver Institute for Human-Animal Connection.
