Premier Dog Sports & Event Center offers a wide range of classes for various skill levels and dog ages. Classes include Pet Obedience for dogs 6 months and over, Puppy Class (AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy, Puppy University) for puppies up to 6 months, and advanced Puppy University for puppies up to 12 months.
They also offer specialized classes such as Canine Good Citizen, Canine School of Confidence, Fun Agility, Junior Agility Fun Skills, Conformation Handling, Tricks (Novice, Novice/Advanced), Flyball Foundations, Scent/Nose Work (Foundation, Intermediate/Advanced), Competition Obedience (Open/Utility/Proofing, Beginner Novice/Novice, Novice/Open), Rally (Novice, Advanced/Masters, Rally 101, Intermediate/Advanced), and Agility (Novice level requiring obstacle knowledge). Classes are typically 6 weeks long, with some variations like 5 weeks for Canine School of Confidence or 4 weeks for Flyball Foundations. Many classes have specific start dates, and some are noted as full.

Pricing Summary
Pet Obedience and Puppy Class are $150 for 6 weeks. Canine School of Confidence is $125 for 5 weeks. Fun Agility is $120 for 6 weeks, with Junior Agility Fun Skills at $120 for 6 weeks ($100 for 4H members). Conformation Handling is $15 for drop-in only. Tricks classes are $120 for 6 weeks. Flyball Foundations are $140 for 4 weeks. Scent/Nose Work is $160 for 6 weeks. Competition Obedience is $150 for 6 weeks. Rally is $120 for 6 weeks. Agility is $120 for 6 weeks.
Policies
Due to long waitlists, once a class has started, refunds will only be issued for owner/dog injuries, with a note required.
About the Trainer
Premier Dog Sports & Event Center LLC is a state-of-the-art dog training facility located in Lancaster, New York. Built in 2021, it is a climate-controlled 28,000 square foot facility on 5 acres of land, designed with the needs of dogs and their owners in mind. The facility features a 9,300 square foot agility ring with high-quality artificial turf and a poured base matting, as well as 11,475 square feet of open matted space for obedience, rally, scent work, and conformation.
They offer a wide variety of pet and competition classes, ranging from Dog Tricks to Master Agility. The center also provides facility rentals for dog events, breed specialties, or sporting events, available by the half day or up to a full week. Additionally, they have an RV lot with 20 sites offering electric hook-ups for overnight stays during events.
Alicia Barry, a trainer at PDS, brings over 30 years of training experience and embraces positive reinforcement, enrichment, and family participation in her training philosophies. She is described as a “Dog Behavior Nerd” who loves the science behind dog behaviors and works to educate the human part of the team to create stronger relationships and joy in training. Alicia teaches various classes from Reactive Dog Rehab to Puppy Pre-School and enjoys teaching all ages, skill levels, and problem-solving. The facility is also committed to being eco-friendly, utilizing LED lighting, hand dryers, motion sensors, electric RV hook-ups, top-of-the-line insulation, recycling bins, cloud computing, and biodegradable cleaners.
Accomplishments

It includes an RV lot with 19 electric hook-up sites and a Judge’s Quarters for overnight guests.
Alicia Barry has over 30 years of training experience and is a certified AKC Canine Good Citizen, Tricks Dog, STARR puppy, and FitDog instructor/evaluator. She has experience fostering rescue dogs and competing in FastCat and plans to compete in Barn Hunt. The founders, Don and Shelly Gordon, established the facility after Shelly’s extensive experience competing in agility with her Basset Hounds, including working towards the AKC Agility Invitational. Shelly is also the president and chief fundraiser for ABC Basset Hound Rescue. Kim Alexander Thomson has competed in many sports with her Standard Poodles, including Conformation, Agility, Obedience, Weight Pulling, Precision Coursing, Therapy Dog work, and Trick titling, with Rally Obedience being her passion. She competed in the very first AKC Rally Invitational and has qualified many times since. She is an AKC and UKC Rally judge, a UKC Obedience and Precision Coursing judge, and an AKC Temperament Evaluator. Lisa Bates has competed with her Basset Hounds at multiple AKC Invitationals, with her dog Princess being the first Basset Hound to earn the PACH (Preferred MACH), PAX & PAX 2, Masters Std & JWW Metallic titles, and is still the most titled Basset in AKC Agility. Lisa was also a CPE Agility Judge for over 12 years and is now an AKC ACT Agility Evaluator.
How to Get Started!
To register for a class, clients need to fill out an online form providing their name, address, phone, email, dog’s name, age, breed, spay/neuter status, vaccination confirmation (rabies, DHPP), where they got their dog, the class/day/instructor they are registering for, how they heard about the business, and their preferred payment method (Cash, Check, Credit Card). There is also a section to provide information on previous training classes and any other pertinent details. Clients must agree to the cancellation policy.
