Programs are customized and include private sessions, day training (dog trained during the day while owner works), and intensive board & train programs lasting 5–15 days. Maintenance sessions are offered for ongoing support. Puppy training includes AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy and CGC preparation. All training is tailored to the dog’s breed, age, and behavioral goals, with video documentation and owner instruction provided.

ProActive Dog Training LLC is a professional dog training business founded by David Lock, a certified K-9 handler with over 30 years of experience training dogs, beginning with showing Rottweilers in Junior AKC Rings at age 12 and continuing through a 17-year career with the Pennsylvania State Police K-9 Unit. The business offers personalized training solutions including private 1:1 sessions, day training, board & train programs, puppy training, and maintenance sessions for existing clients. Accomplishments

David Lock is a former PA State Police K-9 Handler (2005–2022) and Training Coordinator for the K-9 Unit. He completed the U.S. Border Patrol Detection Canine Instructor Course (2008), U.S. Customs and Border Protection Human Remains Detection Instructor Course (2012), and received the “TOP DOG AWARD” for highest academic standing. He is a Principal Evaluator for the National Search Dog Alliance and completed FBI Forensic Canine Victim Recovery qualification (2017). Certified as an AKC Canine Good Citizen Evaluator (2023).

Client engagement begins with an in-home consultation, which includes video recording of specific issues, evaluation of dog and owner behavior, and development of a customized action plan. The consultation fee is $100 and is partially applied toward any purchased training package.
