Testimonials
I cannot say enough good things about Tonda. I was lucky enough to find her a little over a year ago. She has been a reliable and important part of me and Lucy’s life ever since. Tonda is excellent, professional, super knowledgeable, and so helpful. I am so grateful to find a person who clearly cares about my girl as much as I do. Her commitment to her passion has been evident since our first meeting and consultation. She not only walks Lucy most days during the week but also stays overnight when I travel for work. Her availability to take Lucy to the Dogpark during particularly busy work weeks has been a lifesaver. She has even been able to help me with her socialization and training. If you are like me and love your fur baby to the moon and back then you need to meet Tonda.

We are very particular when it comes to our four legged children. After exhausting the typical sitters we found Professional Dog Mom. Together we set a two hour alone interval and overnight stays for a period of eight days. When we got home our dogs ignored us. They were totally pampered, exercised and relaxed. Tonda and her team left the house cleaner than when we left. Checking with the neighbors, there were no issues. I would highly recommend this firm. If you value quality, they are worth every cent of the expenditure.

Tonda is WONDERFUL! We boarded our four year old German Shepard Dog, Koda, for the first time while going on a weekend trip to Lake Tahoe. Tonda took the time to get to know him, ask us questions, and went the extra mile to help him and help us be better pawrents! We had access to the doggy cam and were able to check on Koda throughout our time away. We took a training class with Tonda which left us speechless regarding the knowledge and care she has for the dogs. Koda wanted to go back to the site with Tonda because he felt comfortable with her (speaks volume about a what a wonderful experience he had with her). Overall, we couldn’t have asked for a better boarding and training experience. We are grateful for Tonda at Professional Dog Mom. THANK YOU!

About the Trainer
Professional Dog Mom LLC is a woman-owned, certified, licensed, bonded, and insured dog training and care business serving Reno, Sparks, and South Lake Tahoe. They offer customized in-home dog nanny services and facility-based boarding and training, focusing on enrichment, positive reinforcement, and minimizing stress for dogs. Their approach mimics a traditional nanny role—providing routine, supervision, and behavior guidance as a surrogate parent. Training is conducted using a LIMA (Least Intrusive, Minimally Aversive) method, with no prong, shock, or vibration collars. They provide one-on-one private training sessions at their Stateline facility or in-home in Reno and Stateline, along with group socialization classes and a two-part Dog Parent Class to educate owners on dog communication and behavior. Their facility features cage-free play areas with human-supervised socialization and 800 sq ft of kennel space for dogs who prefer smaller environments. They also offer overnight and day boarding with 24/7 human presence and live camera access for owners.
Their team includes certified professionals trained in dog communication, nutrition, behavior, and safety, with a focus on behavior modification for issues like leash pulling, barking, jumping, separation anxiety, and fearfulness. They emphasize education for pet owners, helping them understand their dog’s perspective and reinforce good behaviors long-term. They are committed to ethical, science-based training and environmental sustainability, with recycling programs and green practices.
They serve both puppies and adult dogs, with services tailored to individual needs, including rescue dogs and those with behavioral challenges. Clients can access training, boarding, and nanny services with flexible scheduling, including 24/7 availability in both service areas.
