Recon K9

Recon K9 offers private lessons and two board & train programs: 4-week and 6-week. The 4-week program teaches basic commands (Sit, Down, Come, Stay, Place, Leave It, loose leash walking) and addresses behavioral issues like jumping, biting, and door bolting. The 6-week program adds off-leash reliability, strong recall, and behavior modification for aggression or reactivity. Both include daily training sessions (2–4 per day), field trips, photo/video updates, a 1-hour pick-up lesson, and a 4-week follow-up lesson. Owners receive access to a private Facebook group for ongoing support.

Pricing Summary

Private lessons are sold in a set of 4 for $500, payable upon booking. The 4-week board & train costs $2,800 with a $500 deposit; the 6-week program is $3,800 with a $700 deposit. Overnight boarding is $40 per night, and refresher boarding with training is $70 per night. All programs require deposits to secure dates.

Payment for private lessons is due upon booking. Board & train programs require non-refundable deposits to hold dates. Drop-off and pick-up times are scheduled between 7:00 AM and 5:30 PM; check-out before 11:00 AM avoids an additional day fee.

Recon K9 is a professional dog training business based in Emmett, Michigan, founded and operated by Danny, a trainer with over 14 years of experience working with rescue dogs, service dogs, and hundreds of police K9s. Danny specializes in obedience, apprehension, tracking, scent detection, and protection training, and applies his expert knowledge to pet dogs with issues like leash pulling, reactivity, anxiety, biting, and poor socialization. The business offers private lessons and intensive board & train programs (4 or 6 weeks), with all training conducted at their 4-acre facility featuring state-of-the-art kennels, open space, and a pond. Owners are actively involved in the process—Danny trains both the dog and the owner, providing follow-up lessons and access to a private Facebook group to ensure long-term success. Accomplishments

Danny earned Recon’s PSA1 Title in 2022, placed 1st at the 24th Annual Dog Sports Open 2022, earned the hardest-hitting dog in Michigan in 2021, won 1st place at the Backwoods K9 Obedience Competition 2021, and received the Highest Distinction Award for PDC in 2021.
