Red River North Dog Obedience Club offers structured training programs across various disciplines, including Puppy, Obedience, Rally, Agility, and Scent Work. Classes are organized into multiple sessions throughout the year, such as Session 1 from January 5 to February 22, 2025.
Specific classes include AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy™ Program – Puppy Kindergarten, which focuses on socialization, basic commands (sit, wait, down, stay, come), housetraining, and behavioral problem-solving. Obedience classes range from Beginning Obedience, teaching basic commands like sit, stay, down, heel, and stand, to Advanced Beginners Obedience, Novice Obedience/Graduate Novice (preparing for AKC BN and CD titles), and Competitive Open/Utility (for CDX and UD titles).
Agility classes progress from Beginning Agility, introducing dogs to equipment and handling techniques, to Advanced Agility for sequencing courses, and Competitive Agility for competition strategy. Rally classes, including Rally Novice and Rally Advanced/Excellent, involve navigating courses with signs, promoting teamwork. Scent Work classes are offered at Foundation and Advanced levels, mimicking detection dog tasks.
Some classes have prerequisites, such as Beginning Obedience for Agility, and certain advanced classes like Competitive Agility and Competitive Open/Utility require instructor permission. Class sizes are limited to ensure effective learning.
