About the Trainer

Red River Working Dogs (RRWD) is a dual DVG and USCA club located in north Texas and southern Oklahoma, serving the working dog community of Texoma. They focus on training dog trainers in a positive club atmosphere, emphasizing setting specific training goals, earning titles, and building positive partnerships with dogs.

Their mission is to support, promote, and organize working dog sport activities as set forth by DVG and FCI, specifically training and titling dogs in Schutzhund (now IGP). They welcome all handlers, new and seasoned competitors, and all breeds of dogs, including mutts and champion working line dogs. The club aims to help each dog/handler pair become their best while having fun. They also support humane and positive training methods.

Accomplishments

The club’s Training Director, Joanne Fleming-Plumb, is a highly successful Schutzhund coach, having coached the 1997 and 1998 Vice World Working Dog Champion. Her students have achieved multiple high-in-trials, Regional, National, and international placements. Joanne herself has represented North America in international competition 7 times, including receiving the highest placing of any North American in 2005, winning the 2007 LV America Championships, and placing 5th at the DVG BSP in Germany. She has also earned high-in-trials in AKC and CKC obedience and competed successfully with 5 breeds in multiple disciplines.

Andrew Booth is a Certified DVG Level 3 Helper and Classified USCA Helper with 4 years of IPO and 3 years of French Ring experience. He has titled his Doberman to APr 3 and a French Ring Brevet, and has put multiple BHs on his and clients’ dogs. He was the IPO Chair for 2017 UDC nationals and President of a Kentucky IPO club.

Rodney Dean was a national competitor in field trials, placing 3rd and 7th in the Derby. He has judged for the Topeka Retriever Club and achieved Schutzhund 3 with his German Shepherd, Ute. He has trained and titled several dogs, started a Schutzhund Club, and built a kennel with a Schutzhund field.

The club is a dual DVG and USCA club, which is noted as rare. DVG is the only organization that requires its club training directors to have titled a dog and pass a test.
