The training programs are structured into four distinct categories: Initial K-9 and Handler Selection, K-9 Certification, EDDT In-Service / Recurring Training, and K-9 Recertification. Initial K-9 and Handler Selection focuses on matching K-9 teams to specific Scope of Work requirements.
Upon completion of the RWBK9 training course, K-9s undergo initial certification through independent third-party testing by authorities such as ADCA, USPCA, NAPWDA, and/or NNDDA. The EDDT In-Service and Recurring Training Program continues throughout client contracts, involving daily proficiency training that reviews basic handling fundamentals like obedience for control and detection training. All training is recorded by the handler on a Daily Utilization and Training form, which is reviewed to develop individualized training programs for each K-9 Team.
Once certified, all K-9s must undergo recurring annual recertification through ADCA, USPCA, NAPWDA, and/or NNDDA Odor Recognition and Operational equivalent examinations. Training simulates real-world scenarios, incorporating various surfaces like vinyl, wood, tile, and carpet, and takes place in diverse venues such as medical offices, parks, community colleges, warehouses, airports, sports facilities, and auto-auction facilities.
About the Trainer
Red, White & Blue K9 Services is a Minority, Disabled Owned K-9 detection services provider, founded in 2020 by Brandon Holiday. Holiday, a former Salisbury City Police Officer, was inspired to create the company by his service dog Dyson after a line-of-duty injury led to the amputation of his left leg.
The company’s mission is to supply professional Explosive, Narcotic, and Firearms K9 teams while supporting disabled veterans and first responders in their journey towards financial independence and a better quality of life. They achieve this by hiring and training prior service members, injured military, and first responders who excel in K9 Detection services.
Red, White & Blue K9 Services utilizes state-of-the-art systems to provide clients with real-time information, which is crucial for rapid response. Their 13-acre training facility simulates real-world scenarios, offering varied surfaces and environments, including an agility course and vehicular search areas, to ensure teams are well-prepared. Training venues extend to medical offices, parks, local community colleges, storage facilities, warehouses, airports, sports training facilities, and auto-auction facilities for long vehicle searches.
Core capabilities include Explosives Detection Dog Teams (EDDT), Narcotics Detection Dog Teams (NDD), Cargo Screening K9 (CCSF-K9), Firearms Detection Dog Teams, Executive Protection K9, and Agricultural Detection K9s. They also provide K9 Training Facility services for handler training and sustainment training, as well as K9 Team Certification. The company’s values are Honesty, Reliability, and Quality Service at a Reasonable Price.
