Dog Training Methodology
Training takes place on over 2000 acres of varied terrain, including hills, flat sage-covered land, and crop fields. Daily live bird shooting simulates hunting conditions. Dogs receive a variety of water experiences using areas along the Santa Ynez River and various stock and irrigation ponds. A limited number of dogs are accepted for training to ensure personalized attention.

REIBAR KENNELS is located in the beautiful Santa Rita hills between Lompoc and Buellton, California. They offer dog training services on over 2000 acres of varied terrain, including steep or gentle rolling hills, flat sage-covered land, and many acres of various crops. They shoot live birds daily to simulate hunting conditions and utilize areas along the Santa Ynez River and various stock and irrigation ponds for water experiences.
The trainer has over 25 years of dog training experience and retired from training competition field trial retrievers, having produced some 35 Field and Amateur Field Champions. Reibar encourages owners to participate in their dog’s learning experience to become better handlers, which can lead to more game in the bag.
They do not breed dogs but can recommend clients with litters or locate pups from top lines through their field trial connections. They usually have started dogs available for those interested in a trained dog. Reibar takes a limited number of dogs for training at any one time to ensure personalized attention.
Accomplishments
The trainer has over 25 years of dog training experience. The business has produced approximately 35 Field and Amateur Field Champions from competition field trial retrievers.
