Ridgeside K9 Knoxville offers comprehensive dog training programs, including Board and Train, Private Dog Training, and Puppy Training, all designed to bridge the communication gap between dogs and their owners. Their approach emphasizes clear communication and balanced training, creating an environment where dogs are motivated to learn.
Board and Train programs are customized and facility-housed, ranging from 3 to 6 weeks. Clients receive weekly progress reports and photos, and programs conclude with facility lessons for owner turnover. These programs focus on obedience, impulse control, loose leash heeling, and eliminating problem behaviors like jumping, counter surfing, and digging. Advanced programs aim for 100% reliable recall and proofing in high-distraction environments, utilizing tools such as prong and e-collars.
Private Dog Training consists of 5 or 7 one-on-one sessions, focusing on building a strong obedience foundation. These sessions address issues like crate training, potty training, loose leash walking, general behavioral issues, separation anxiety, place command, impulse control, stays, and reactivity. While private training is not for aggressive dogs (who require a separate 4-6 week aggression rehabilitation program), it helps owners learn how to motivate, engage, and communicate effectively with their dogs using various balanced training tools and techniques.
Puppy Training programs, such as the 2-Week Puppy University and Puppy All-Inclusive, lay the foundation for basic obedience, crate training, and potty training. They help alleviate common puppy behaviors like jumping, biting, excessive barking, and anxiety. Training starts at their facility and progresses to public environments for proper exposure and socialization, utilizing positive reinforcement with food and toys for young puppies.
All training programs include a strong focus on owner education, with a 3-hour turnover session at graduation to ensure lasting success. Ridgeside K9 Knoxville offers lifetime support, weekly refresher training sessions (Wednesdays at 5 PM in summer, Saturdays at noon in winter) for prior clients, monthly pack walks, and an online platform for ongoing questions and community connection. They tailor their methods to each dog’s individual personality, situation, and goals.

Testimonials
“I can’t recommend Ridgeside K-9 enough. I had a couple of bad experiences with other local trainers and I was close to giving up on the idea until I found them. My dog Poppi LOVES going to her daycare/training program everyday. She gets so excited to see them. I love the daily drop off/pickup program because I get to take her home everyday and see her progress. All of her issues have been resolved and she is a joy to be around. I get compliments on her behavior everywhere I go. She comes home clean and happy everyday. I love that they allow daily playtime and make the experience pleasant for the dog and the owner. I would give them 3 thumbs up if I had an extra thumb! Will and Christina have mainly worked with Poppi, they are amazing, and so patient, as are all of the wonderful trainers there. All smiles here! Communication is wonderful, training skill is out of this world and I see real results. Thanks guys! ♥️”

“This company is the real deal! I sent off my pup Cooper off for puppy training and picked him up yesterday. Kaitlyn worked her magic turning him into a sweetheart! At first I was worried about sending him away during his puppy months but I got lots of videos & pics of his progress. She kept me updated with everything. When I picked him up, she showed me the ropes on how to walk him on his new collar and all his little “tricks”. In the beginning, he tried to get away with things but today it was different. He was eager to learn & wanted to work for it. We even walked him about a dog who was slightly out of control and he kept his eyes on me the whole time! Im excited to see his next milestone in life. I can not thank you guys enough!”

“They did such a good job! Petsmart quoted us $95 to groom her and she’s only 15 pounds. We kept looking and found this place and they only charged us $60 for a full groom. They did such a good job. We didn’t know what we wanted and told them to just do whatever they wanted and she came out looking so perfect. Incredibly friendly staff and we were able to get in next day. Also a plus that we were able to set up the appointment via text. Will be coming back!”
