Ridgeside K9 Tampa Dog Training

Very happy with my decision to send my puppy to Ridgeside k9. Brent and Carleigh are the best!! I did the 2 week all-inclusive puppy training and I am very happy with the results. They lay a great foundation with the puppy and then teach you the skills to maintain the good behavior. After my lab puppy came back from the initial 10-day board and train, he was crate trained, leash trained, and place trained. It made my life a lot easier. He just came back from the 2 week more intensive training and so far I am very happy with the results. I really appreciate the time Brent took to make sure I understood everything and was comfortable. I also felt like not only are they both excellent trainers, but I felt the love and care they gave my sweet, crazy boy!!

I found Ridgeside K9 after a quick Google search for local dog trainers, and I’m really glad I did. From the start, Taylor was awesome. During our initial consultation, she took the time to really understand what I needed for my Malinois rescue, Kona. We talked through some of the challenges we were having and what I was hoping to get out of the training. She asked all the right questions, and before I knew it, we were moving forward.

When pickup day came, Brent showed up and walked me through the entire process — what to expect while Kona was away, how the training would go, and how I’d stay in the loop. True to his word, I got daily updates and pictures that kept me connected and reassured throughout.

Then Kona came home… and wow. Different dog. Still Kona, just more focused, confident, and manageable. Brent didn’t just hand him off and leave either — he spent a solid 2.5 hours with my family walking us through everything. It honestly felt like he was training us more than the dog (which I now totally get). He made sure we understood how to use the tools he provided, how to reinforce the training, and how to make it part of everyday life.

We wrapped it all up with a hands-on walk where he coached my wife and me through real-time corrections and gave us practical advice to keep things consistent and low-stress.

Huge thanks to Brent and the whole Ridgeside K9 crew for giving Kona (and us) the structure we needed. He’s now thriving as part of our family — and we’re all better for it.

My 4-year-old Goldendoodle, Lola, recently completed a 3-week board and train program with Brent and Carleigh at Ridgeside. Before training, she struggled with fear, anxiety, and several obedience issues. She was afraid to leave the house or backyard, barked at people and dogs through the window, counter-surfed, begged, and more. I was searching for a long-term solution and honestly wasn’t sure if change was even possible.

From the start, the experience was excellent. Taylor guided me through a thorough consultation and explained the entire process clearly. Everything went smoothly from there–Brent picked Lola up from our home and walked me through what the program would entail.

Throughout the training, communication was consistent. I received daily updates with pictures, and Brent was always available to answer my questions.

At the end of the program, we met at a park for a 3-hour session where Brent trained me on everything Lola had learned and made sure all my questions were answered.

I can confidently say Lola’s behavior has completely transformed while still keeping her sweet personality. She’s now calm, confident, and no longer afraid of people, cars, or loud noises. I can finally take her on walks–something that felt impossible before.

If you’re looking for real, lasting results, I highly recommend Ridgeside. The training was worth every penny, and I wouldn’t hesitate to bring my next dog here.
