Policies

Rockin E Dog Training and Consulting has specific policies regarding health and safety, including encouraging but not requiring masks based on CDC recommendations for medium to high COVID-19 community levels. Clients are asked to wait outside until called in and to enter through the south door to minimize congestion. Individuals exhibiting COVID-19 or flu-like symptoms should not enter the building, and those with COVID-19 are asked to wear a mask for 5 days after home quarantine ends.

General class policies include arriving early for potty breaks, and strictly prohibiting hitting, kicking, hanging, or smacking dogs. Pinch collars, choke collars, shock collars, and retractable leashes are not permitted. For safety, clients should not allow their dogs to greet other dogs without staff assistance. Clients are responsible for cleaning up after their dogs and ensuring dogs do not urinate on the building or trees.

Regarding children, those under 5 years of age are not allowed. For children attending, one adult per child is strongly recommended, and children must be well-behaved and not disturb the class. Any child under 13 must have an adult hold the dog’s leash. Appropriate footwear (no flip-flops) is required due to active classes.

Co-owner Holly Steinkraus has a doctorate in Molecular Biology from the University of Wyoming and is also certified by the AKC to evaluate dogs in the CGC program. Trainer Natalie Bartlett is certified through the Animal Behavior Institute as a Certified Advanced Canine Training Professional and a Certified Canine Training and Behavior Specialist.
