Rosie Dane Dog Training offers a curriculum designed to produce happy, reliable, calm, and stable companion animals. Their core curriculum involves an orientation, 8 group lessons, and graduation, aiming for off-leash reliability. Sessions are 90 minutes long and conducted in real-world scenarios.

Key commands taught include Manners (focus and function in distraction), Focus (on handler), Sit/Down/Stay (reliable on first ask, handling stress constructively), Heeling (loose leash and off-leash walking), and Recall (instant return). They also offer Private Puppy Lessons for house-training, socialization, and foundational learning for puppies under 16 weeks. Puppy Group Classes for 4-6 month olds focus on on-leash obedience, structure, and impulse control.

Advanced Programs expand on the Novice skillset, covering retrieving, scent work, or advanced obedience, and offer continued practice. They also provide Behavior Modification for issues like trauma, timidity, aggression, and feral dogs, with reactivity appointments held at their facility. Clients can retake the core course for free.

About the Trainer

Rosie Dane Dog Training aims to make dogs the best companions possible by building relationships based on mutual respect and love. They believe any dog can be trained to behave as desired, regardless of temperament or pre-existing problems. They use time-tested methods from various methodologies to produce happy, reliable, calm, and stable companion animals, helping owners achieve control and overcome issues.

Their training style focuses on a few simple, all-encompassing commands that directly affect a dog’s behavior, rather than teaching many commands. They emphasize training in real-world scenarios to prepare dogs for living in the real world, and they train owners to build and maintain their dog’s training. They specialize in “after training” to ensure long-term success.

Accomplishments

Over 80% of their students are able to obtain both their Canine Good Citizen certificate and pass the AKC Novice Obedience requirements upon completion of the curriculum.

How to Get Started!

To get started, new clients attend a monthly orientation, which serves as week one of the ten-week curriculum. During the orientation, owners/handlers attend without their dogs to learn expectations, meet the trainers and their methods, and receive homework to prepare for the first group lesson. If clients are not satisfied after the orientation, they do not owe any payment. Private sessions can also be scheduled directly.
