Testimonials

Sara is absolutely wonderful to work with! I have done individual and group training with her for the past few years. She is always welcoming and supportive with a great deal of patience. Her boarding facility is clean and very well managed. I like how she offers a board and train option. I always know that my dog is being well cared for and that she genuinely loves what she does. Our 142lb Newfie loves to visit Sara! I have recommended her to friends and neighbors.

We have been working with Sara at Rylee’s Ranch for over 4 years and find her boarding and training business to be the very best we have experienced. Our 4-year-old Nala is an English retriever and while a very loving, agreeable dog, she is strong-willed, and playful. After receiving less than stellar training from several local dog trainers, we received a great referral from a dog-loving friend, and we enrolled in Sara’s two-week boot camp overnight training and stay for young dogs. Our rambunctious pup came home a well-behaved, eager-to-please dog who was proud of her abilities and learned behaviors. Nala and I have enrolled in many of Sara’s “continuing education” classes which have helped reinforce Nala’s learning and solidified her training.

Rylee’s Ranch, run by Sara Harris, is a PHENOMENAL boarding and training facility! My pup Penny spent four days with Sara to work on her (non-existent) recall skills and to perfect her loose-leash walking skills. I was so impressed with how much Penny learned in such a short amount of time! The private lesson during pickup was easy to follow, and Sara had so many extra tips and tricks to give so that I could continue working with Penny on her recall and leash skills at home.

About the Trainer

Rylee’s Ranch Boarding and Training LLC, run by Sara Harris, is a small, home-based dog training and boarding facility located in Rochester, WA. They offer private lessons, board and train programs, group classes (seasonal), and pet boarding in a low-density environment with a maximum of five dogs at a time. Sara uses a balanced training approach that incorporates positive reinforcement with food, toys, and praise, and includes corrections when necessary, tailored to each dog’s needs. The facility features five acres of fully fenced yard, daily field trips for real-world exposure, and personalized attention with text and photo updates during boarding. Owners are encouraged to bring their dog’s favorite items from home to ease transition. Board and train programs last one to four weeks and include behavior modification, leash walking, recall, and socialization, with follow-up private lessons to ensure home success.

Sara has over 15 years of hands-on experience in dog training and behavior, beginning with 4-H in 2007, competing in AKC and ASCA obedience and rally, working as a veterinary technician, and running a training and boarding kennel in Olympia before opening Rylee’s Ranch in 2021. Her small-scale facility prioritizes safety, individualized care, and a home-like atmosphere, making it ideal for dogs who are anxious around large groups or require specialized attention.

They accept dogs of all ages and sizes, including unaltered dogs, and provide boarding with medications, five daily potty breaks, and supervised yard time. Group classes resume in May 2025 and include obedience, proofing, scent work, and rally. Discounts are available for military families and dogs sharing kennels.

Accomplishments

Sara Harris has competed in AKC and ASCA obedience and rally with multiple dogs, trained through middle and high school, worked as a veterinary technician for two years, and spent nearly four years at a training and boarding kennel in Olympia before founding Rylee’s Ranch in 2021. She has successfully trained dogs of all temperaments, including high-energy and previously untrainable dogs, and has earned consistent five-star reviews for her results.
