Dog Training Methodology

Methods:

  • Positive Reinforcement Only

Training begins with a two-hour Comprehensive Consultation where an expert discusses training goals, evaluates the dog’s behavior and environment, and demonstrates basic obedience skills like sit, “place,” and leash walking. Private Training Sessions are offered for various needs including puppy training, obedience, crate training, and behavior modification for aggression and anxiety. These sessions are all-inclusive and cover skills from leash training to housebreaking and separation anxiety.

Group Classes are available for mastering real-world skills, covering in-depth training, distraction training, AKC Canine Good Citizen skills, and advanced obedience. These classes are part of their Trainer on Retainer and Priority Programs. They also offer Pre-Purchase and Adoption Consultations to help families research and find the right dog, and an Expecting Parents Program to prepare dogs for a new child’s arrival. Additionally, they provide Therapy Dog Training to meet certification requirements, partnering with Dogs With A Purpose for testing and certification.

About the Trainer

Sally Said So Professional Dog Training is a veterinarian-recommended, locally owned source of expert dog trainers. They help improve a dog’s behavioral wellbeing through trusted reward-based training techniques. They offer customized training plans that start in the client’s living room and then transition to real-world environments.

The business has been successfully helping dogs and owners resolve miscommunication and behavioral issues since 2009. They believe there are no bad dogs, only poor communication. Their approach emphasizes one-on-one training in low-distraction environments initially, followed by real-world application. For their premier programs, they commit to supporting the dog for its life.

Sally Said So’s mission is to help more dogs by educating dog owners, supporting dog rescue, and empowering veterinary professionals across North Carolina. They prioritize the needs of the dog and utilize a variety of positive reinforcement techniques to strengthen the bond between dog and owner. They also offer feline training and have an online store for pet supplies.
