Scentsible K9 Dog Training is owned and operated by Kelty Forman, a certified dog trainer with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Boise State University and extensive hands-on experience in dog behavior and training. She offers private lessons, group classes, pack walks, and scent detection training, all centered around her proprietary “Scentsible Method™” that prioritizes safety, trust, and consistency to build strong owner-dog bonds. Kelty emphasizes balanced training—using rewards and appropriate corrections—to create lasting behavioral change, and she provides lifetime support to all clients. Her approach is tailored to each dog’s unique needs, focusing on nervous system regulation, emotional safety, and owner accountability. She also offers a free training e-book and a free training course to help owners get started. Kelty’s background includes internships at Fowler K9 Academy and Tip Top K9, a Police K9 handler course, and certification as a Narcotics Detection team with her lab, Barley. She is currently pursuing instructor certification in canine scent work and is an AKC CGC evaluator. Her training philosophy is rooted in canine psychology and trauma-informed methods, making her especially effective with reactive, fearful, or anxious dogs.

Accomplishments

Kelty Forman holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Boise State University, completed a Police K9 handler course, and earned certification as a Narcotics Detection team with her dog Barley through the High Desert Police K9 Association. She is an AKC Canine Good Citizen evaluator and is pursuing instructor certification with NACSW and K9 Nose Work. She has trained with the National Disaster Search Dog Foundation and completed courses through Paraclete K9, The Michael Ellis School for Dog Trainers, and Method K9.
