Schreiner’s Retriever Training

Basic Gundog program: 3–4 months, includes full obedience, force fetch, basic land and water retrieving, steady to shot, and flushing (for gundogs). Advanced Handling program: 6–10 months, adds casting, lining, double-T, water force-swim-bye, marked and blind retrieves, diversions, and cold blinds. Field Trial & Hunt Test program includes all above plus advanced field drills. Obedience program: 2–4 weeks, includes on/off-leash sit, here, heel, place, down, with owner involvement. Winter training trip: January–April in Texas for water and cover work, with field trial participation.

Pricing Summary

Retriever training: $900 per month. Obedience training: $30 per day or $900 per month. One-on-one training with Greg: $100 per hour (minimum 1 hour). Field training for non-program dogs: $50 per day. Field trial and hunt test handling: $75 per session.

Greg Schreiner is a professional retriever trainer with over 18 years of experience specializing in hunting, hunt tests, and field trials for gun dogs, primarily Labrador Retrievers. Greg also offers stud services for his male Retrievers and sells started and trained dogs, with pedigree information available online. He does not ship puppies and requires in-person pickup.

Training is conducted in both Minnesota and Texas, with winter programs running from January to April in Montague, TX.

Accomplishments

Greg Schreiner has been training since 1996. His dogs have achieved top placements in field trials and hunt tests, including 1st place qualifying at Duluth Ret Club.
