Testimonials
“Rory is such a good boy now … I wish we had taken lessons with Sean before he trashed almost all of our furniture!!!!!!! He learned quicker than we did, but Sean showed us just how to get everything fixed get everything back on the straight and narrow. Thanks Bud.”
– Rick and Louise
“Trek was not fun to walk. Barked at every dog we saw. I took to walking early in the morning or late at night. I love that I can walk anytime now. Thanks.”
– Tracy H
“When a friend recommended calling Sean. Henry’s still a lot of dog to handle and is probably always going to be head strong but at least we’ve got the upper hand now. No more barking outbursts on walks and people can actually come over now!”
– Phyllis T.
About the Trainer
Seattle Family Dog Training offers balanced, results-oriented dog training programs in the Seattle area. They specialize in 1-on-1 training sessions conducted at the client’s location.
The training aims to address common behavioral issues such as leash pulling, jumping, and general calmness, while also clarifying the relationship between dog and owner and building functional obedience skills. Sean McDaniel, the trainer, has over two decades of experience and employs a balanced approach, using both positive and minimum-threshold negative feedback, similar to how dogs interact with each other.
While food can be used, especially with puppies and for behavioral modification, it is not the sole basis for training adult dogs, with the ultimate goal being for dogs to listen without reliance on food. They also offer a 4-week socialization Board and Training program specifically for puppies aged 14 to 22 weeks.
Accomplishments
Sean McDaniel has been a dog trainer in Seattle for over two decades. He was originally trained in ‘purely positive’ clicker training and operant conditioning, and later trained in various non-food treat oriented methods. Sean McDaniel is also the host of THE DOGS WAY PODCAST.
