Seeley Creek Canine offers a variety of training programs tailored to different needs and goals. The process typically begins with an Initial Consultation to understand the client’s needs and dog’s information, allowing them to develop a customized program and provide immediate training advice.
Their Board & Train programs are designed for faster and more consistent results, with options including:
nn- Two-week Boot Camp: An intensive behavioral modification program focusing on specific problem areas like leash pulling, recall, counter surfing, lunging, jumping, and general obedience (sit, down, stay, come).
nn- Three-week Board and Train: This program builds on behavioral modification, emphasizing day-to-day compliance such as waiting at the door, loose leash heeling, and distraction training. The extended time allows for proofing the training.
nn- Four-week Optimal Dog or Complete Rehabilitation: Their premier transformation program, which includes off-leash training, socialization, desensitization to distractions, and in-home behavior expectations. It covers commands like sit, down, stay, come when called, emergency down, leave it, and fun tricks. Daily updates with pictures and videos are provided for Board & Train participants.
Training Classes are offered as one-on-one sessions at their facility, with multiple levels:
nn- Introduction to Dog Training: Focuses on shaping behavior, setting expectations, and building the owner-dog relationship through reward-based training. It covers foundational commands (sit, stay, come) and effective play, aiming for on-leash walking without pulling.
nn- Intermediate Behavior Shaping: For dogs that have progressed past the introductory level, this class works on consistency, accountability, and building a higher work ethic, adding complexities to training with distractions. It includes e-collar training for off-leash control.
nn- Advanced Competition Obedience: Designed for owners with a high degree of control, this class introduces off-leash, high-distraction training, similar to what is expected with service animals, to achieve complete control anywhere.
In-Home Training mirrors their facility-based program but is conducted at the client’s home for flexibility, involving all family members to ensure consistency. Group Classes are held on Saturday mornings in Rock Hill, SC, by invitation only for clients who have met minimum control expectations, featuring significant off-leash activity.
Select Premier Services include:
nn- Protection Training: Customized programs ranging from a deterrent tool to executive protection.
nn- Sport Dog Training: Training for disciplines like International Protection Organization (IPO), Protection Sport Association (PSA), Ring Sports, or Schutzhund.
nn- Scent/Nose Work: Training for tracking, scent detection, barn hunt, and antler shed hunts, for competition or fun.
nn- Off-leash Hiking: Supervised access to their 40-acre property for safe off-leash hiking, alone or in a group.

They offer clients the option to vaccinate for kennel cough or canine influenza, but these must be administered 10 days prior to boarding to be effective. They encourage clients to research vaccination options, especially for very young or elderly dogs.
For boarding, drop-off or pick-up times are between 8 AM-10 AM or 4 PM-6 PM, though special arrangements can be made outside these hours. Daily charges for boarding begin on the day of drop-off and conclude on the day of pick-up.
Testimonials
“Thank you for watching Roxy for us! I heard she did well. Jon also said she was pretty tired when he picked her up. Great news that I was worried for nothing… Jon said to refer your company which we will. I’m so happy I asked about boarding because I only knew that you fostered dogs.”

About the Trainer
Seeley Creek Canine is a dog training and boarding facility located in Chester, SC, situated on 40 acres of pasture and wooded trails. They offer a down-home country feel, catering to clients who seek more than just a kennel for their pets. The facility includes an indoor climate-controlled training area and a secure fenced-in outdoor training area for off-leash control in a safe environment. They also maintain a hiking trail system available for clients and offer hiking excursions for pets staying for boarding or training.
Their training philosophy is balanced, acknowledging that no single style fits all animals. They prioritize establishing a solid relationship with the handler first, then setting realistic expectations through repetition that allows for both failure and success. They utilize a marker-based system for communication and adapt their approach for fearful or aggressive dogs, emphasizing leadership, boundaries, accountability, and consistency.
Seeley Creek Canine offers a wide range of training options and packages, including group classes by invitation only. They can assist with various behavioral issues such as aggression, destructive behavior, anxiety, house manners, leash walking, jumping, biting or mouthing, door bolting, hyperactivity, puppy training, tricks, and play games.
Boarding is a smaller segment of their services, primarily for training clients, but also available to the public with limited numbers to ensure personal attention. Pets are kenneled or crated at night but are frequently out and socializing with staff during the day, aiming to reduce stress and mimic a home environment. They also offer grooming services based on a quote.
Accomplishments
Eric Galayda, the Owner/Operator/Training Director, has worked with dogs his entire lifetime. As a youth, he participated in AKC/UKC showing Shetland Sheep Dogs, developing his Junior Handler skills. He expanded his expertise to training labs for duck hunt retrieves, combining his love for dogs with his passion for the outdoors.
Eric also leveraged his skills in dog rescue, rehabilitating adoptable animals from inner-city kill shelters by temperament testing, evaluating training needs, and reshaping them into adoptable pets. He taught volunteers at local animal rescues about animal behavior management and safety techniques, and educated children on dog safety at schools.
In 2004, Eric began training others publicly, focusing on adopted rescue dogs with behavioral issues. He further expanded his knowledge into protection work, training dogs for military, law enforcement, and personal protection. He spent five years working with industry-leading trainers, achieving the highest level in the French Ring discipline with his primary dog, Dapper. Eric continues to train and compete globally.
