Testimonials
“Daniel you have done an amazing job and I was proud to have Hero with me so behaved and doing his tasks of creating space between me and other people and standing behind me watching my back. He did great, also lead me through a crowd at a faster pace. I think he sensed the anxiety! A great weekend for Hero and I to work together and bond!”
– Barry Offenburger
“Daniel has the skills to teach you to train your dog. His patience is never ending… You realize you’re the one who did it because he indeed trained you. Daniel can change lives, I know, He changed my whole family’s lives.”– Josh
“Training my Service Dog with Daniel has opened up a new world of possibilities for me! I have a special bond with my Service Dog, Stella… Daniel taught me to trust my training, trust my dog, and most of all, to trust myself.”– Peter N. Mahmood, Major, Retired, US Army
About the Trainer
Service Dogs 4 Servicemen is a nonprofit organization founded by Daniel De La Rosa, a certified dog trainer with over 25 years of experience, specializing in training service dogs for U.S. military veterans and first responders with PTSD and mobility needs. The organization provides fully-trained service dogs at low or no cost to veterans through sponsorship and donations. Daniel offers one-on-one training programs for veterans who already have a dog or need help selecting one, with programs including the Hero Project (free service dog placement), Doyle Dogs (owner-dog training), and Veterans 4 Veterans (affordable self-funded training). Training is based on positive reinforcement and includes certification through the AKC Canine Good Citizen (CGC) test and Public Access Test (PAT). The organization also offers educational resources, public access guidance, and lifelong support for veteran-dog teams. Private civilian training is available through DanielDeLaRosaDogs.com.
Daniel trains dogs of all breeds, with a focus on greyhounds, Belgian Malinois, Akitas, and mixed breeds. He emphasizes building a strong bond between handler and dog, teaching tasks like creating personal space, barrier positioning, crowd navigation, and anxiety detection. Training is conducted at their facility in Fort Lauderdale, FL, and includes ongoing support for the lifetime of the dog.
The organization also provides resources such as Florida service dog laws, trainer tips, and educational content to help the public understand service dog behavior and rights.
