SF Puppy Prep offers various programs tailored to different puppy and dog ages and needs. Puppy Socials (9-18 weeks) provide supervised playtime for socialization and appropriate play skills. Puppy Fundamentals (100 Level, 9 weeks – 6 months) and Adolescent Fundamentals (100 Level, 6-12 months) cover obedience basics and address common puppy behaviors like biting, barking, chewing, and house training. Puppy Street Skills (200 Level, 4 months – 1 year) builds on foundational skills, focusing on consistency, focus, recall, and leash walking with distractions.

Canine Good Citizen Prep Class (6 months or older) prepares dogs for the AKC CGC test, teaching manners for urban life. Puppy Dayschool is an all-day training and socialization experience for young puppies (8-20 weeks), focusing on confidence, manners, and preventing behavioral pitfalls. Outdoor Education (16+ weeks) is a transitional program (4-24 weeks) that generalizes foundation skills to real-world settings like parks, beaches, and neighborhoods, focusing on leash manners, recall, and off-leash competencies. Private Training offers personalized one-on-one coaching. They also offer educational seminars for owners and a Dog Training Internship Academy.

Pricing & Policies

Pricing Summary

Puppy Socials cost $35 for a 45-minute session. Puppy Fundamentals (100 Level) and Adolescent Fundamentals (100 Level) classes are $300 for 4 consecutive weeks, 1 hour per week. Puppy Street Skills (200 Level) is also $300 for 4 consecutive weeks. Canine Good Citizen Prep Class is $400 for 6 weeks, 1 hour per week.

Puppy Dayschool offers a 16-session (4 day/week) program for $2000 and a 12-session (3 day/week) program for $1650. Itty Bitty Doggy City daycare is $60 for a single day, $500 for a 10-pack, and $900 for a 20-pack, with an opening special of $450 for a 10-pack. All packages purchased for Itty Bitty Doggy City expire in 60 days.

Policies

Refunds are not provided if enrollment is canceled within 2 business days (Monday-Friday) of the class start date. For Covid-19 safety, classes are indoors, masks are strongly recommended, and only two people per puppy are allowed. Students are asked to maintain 6ft distance and stay home if experiencing COVID symptoms or risk of exposure.

How to Get Started!

For Puppy Socials, sign-up is available online. For 100-level classes, an online orientation session is provided immediately after payment confirmation, with further details emailed 12-24 hours before class. For Puppy Dayschool, an included initial 60-minute puppy consultation helps with puppy proofing and management schedules. To enroll in Dayschool, puppies must have been home for 1 week, completed a vet wellness check, be under 18 weeks (or 20 weeks for pups under 20lbs), and have proof of specific vaccinations (DHPP/DAPP/DHLPP, Bordetella, and recommended Bivalent Canine Influenza) emailed at least 3 days prior to starting. For Itty Bitty Doggy City, fill out a form and provide proof of DHPP, Rabies, and Bordetella vaccinations before the first day.
