Dog Training Methodology

The Gun Dog program is a minimum of 4 months, typically taking about 6 months to train a good gun dog. It includes Obedience Training, Collar Conditioning, Force Fetch, Conditioning to Gunfire, Steady to single marks (on land and water), and Double Marks (on land and water). An advanced training program is available after the initial program, teaching blind retrieves and triple marked retrieves.

The Obedience Training program is a 4 to 6 week board and train program. It focuses on three core commands: “Here” (dog must come when called), “Sit” (dog sits and stays until another command is given), and “Heel” (dog comes to the side and walks calmly without pulling). From these commands, dogs learn to be good family members, including sitting to be fed, waiting at doors, loading into cars/crates, and laying down on a bed. A key aspect of the program is teaching owners how to handle their dog effectively.
