Policies
The STCSEW requires members to adhere to a Code of Ethics. This code mandates supporting the STCSEW at all times, keeping club problems internal, supporting the AKC and ASTC Shih Tzu Standard, and being truthful in all advertising and public communication.
For breeder referrals, the policy states that all puppies and adults are seen by a veterinarian before a sale is finalized, and a veterinary statement is supplied to new owners.
About the Trainer
The Shih Tzu Club of Southeastern Wisconsin (STCSEW) is a not-for-profit organization established in 1966. It is the first Shih Tzu Club in Wisconsin and operates as a local Shih Tzu specialty club. The club aims to encourage and promote the breeding of purebred Shih Tzu and to bring their natural qualities to perfection, aligning with the American Kennel Club (AKC) and American Shih Tzu Club (ASTC) standards.
The STCSEW offers one or more annual AKC licensed Specialty shows and AKC Sanctioned “B” Matches. They provide information about the Shih Tzu to the general public, including local and member Shih Tzu Breeder Referral information. They also facilitate announcements of puppy, litter news, and available adult Shih Tzu through their “Puppies & Breeders” and “Adoptions & Rescue” webpages.
Members of the STCSEW and/or the American Shih Tzu Club must sign a “Code of Ethics” upon acceptance. Breeders referred by the club are hobby breeders who support that all puppies and adults are seen by a veterinarian before a sale is finalized, and a veterinary statement is supplied to new owners. The club also provides links to educational resources on Shih Tzu care, training, and socialization, including free AKC puppy and dog e-book downloads.
