Testimonials

Shortly after I first adopted my dog Jonesy, I wasn’t sure I could handle his needs. He’s a very sweet and gentle boy, but he was incredibly anxious–afraid of essentially everything, highly reactive, and unable to be left alone for any amount of time.

Since then, Jessica, Shuli, and essentially everyone at Sit, Down & Beyond have transformed him. Because of their efforts, Jonesy’s confidence has improved dramatically, to the point where he can now consistently interact politely with dogs and people, go on adventures and actually enjoy himself, recover quickly from scary things, and stay home alone for a couple of hours (and that time is still increasing). He’s been to middle school baseball games, a work conference, a festival, and other places he would have absolutely melted down in before. He’s even starting to get more comfortable around cats (yes, they can train that), which initially seemed impossible given his first couple of interactions with them. He’s just generally more comfortable existing in the world and has a much higher quality of life.

And I can’t even tell you how much better I personally feel. The team has been training me too. I’m now more confident recognizing, understanding, and responding to Jonesy’s feelings and needs. My experience with Jonesy has gone from “I’m constantly scrambling trying to deal with him” to “he and I are working together to build both of our confidence”. They have legitimately turned my relationship with him from one of stress, anxiety, and at times even regret to one of joy, appreciation, and admiration.

Jonesy and I both still have more growing to do, but with the Sit, Down & Beyond team, I have no doubt we can do it. You can get the “sit” and “down” from anywhere, but it’s the “beyond” that really separates this team from the rest.

We’ve used Shuli a couple of times now to watch our dog, Kewpie, while we go on vacations and he’s always done such a great job. Kewpie can be rather high maintenance and Shuli always keeps him entertained, exercises him, and trains him as well. Kewpie always comes back a better version of himself. Most importantly, we had Shuli take care of Kewpie during our wedding weekend and he also agreed to be a “doggy day-of chaperone” on our wedding day. It was one of the best decisions we made. Shuli was committed to making sure that he and Kewpie were there on time, that Kewpie was well behaved, and that they both showed up looking their best. Kewpie was our celebrity guest at the wedding and came for photos before the ceremony as well as the cocktail hour right after where guests could meet him, and give him treats, pets, and pose for photos. We are so incredibly grateful for Shuli’s care, attention, and dedication to our goodest boy and for letting him be a part of our special day.

I believe Shuli must be related to Mary Poppins. Sensing an escalating emergency in which I needed support, he arrived at my home the very day I scheduled a consultation, not with a carpet bag filled with magical objects, but with infinite knowledge, uncannily accurate intuition, a wonderful sense of humor, and an obvious love for both dogs and their humans. I am not sure whom Shuli saved–me or the hyperactive, freakishly intelligent, and adorable “Daisy the Goldendoodle,” I had adopted four days prior.

Shuli has a phenomenally generous and kind spirit. He does not judge; however, he will share his expertise in a straightforward manner, which is very refreshing. Shuli is so committed to your success as a dog owner and to the happiness of your dog, he will go out of his way to ensure it. As Shuli knows so much about various breeds and what makes them tick, working with him will seem like a treat for both you and your dog. My only complaint about Shuli is that, like Mary Poppins, he eventually had to leave.
