Dog Training Methodology
Methods:
- ✓ Balanced Training
Sit Means Sit offers several dog training programs. The Board & Train program is designed for owners seeking behavior transformation without the time commitment, where trainers work with the dog throughout the day. This package includes individual lessons and group classes for owners, and a lifetime follow-up benefit for 10-day programs.
The Day Train program is their most popular, offering flexibility and results. Owners drop off their pet for 6-8 hours daily for one-on-one training, with a follow-up lesson and owner coaching at pickup. This program covers commands such as Sit, Heel, Come, Place, Free, Off, Out, Crate, and Down.
Private Lessons are for owners who prefer to work directly with their pets. A professional trainer conducts one-on-one sessions, demonstrating detailed homework after each lesson. This package offers continuation through group classes once the trainer approves.
The Puppy Training course is designed to give puppies a strong start, providing tools for a well-rounded and confident future. It addresses early bad habits like chewing, and the financial commitment can be applied toward a more advanced package.
Group Classes are offered to clients who have completed one of their packages, providing access to advanced behavior goals and correcting deep habits through hands-on learning. These classes build on basics and allow pets to deepen their skills, with trainers moving interested clients into advanced and specialty classes.
Additionally, they offer a “Lunch & Learn” program for staff of pet-related businesses (e.g., veterinarians, groomers, pet walkers, boarding facilities, doggy spas) to teach their training system and strategies.

About the Trainer
Sit Means Sit provides professional canine training to the surrounding areas, including Brentwood, Franklin, and Spring Hill. They help with common dog behavior issues such as running away, barking at other dogs, chewing on furniture, uncontrollable jumping, or nipping. Their goal is to help owners achieve control over their pets, both on and off leash, fostering happy, confident, and obedient pups with satisfied owners.
They aim to create a “lifestyle dog” that can accompany owners anywhere, including malls, restaurants, or parks, and obey in any situation. Their training systems are designed to work effectively around distractions and under real-world conditions.
Their training options cover everything from basic obedience to advanced tricks, catering to “difficult cases” or new puppies. They work with all breeds, focusing on increasing confidence and improving obedience around distractions, while ensuring the dog remains happy and tail-wagging.
