Dog Training Methodology

Sit Means Sit offers several training programs. The Board and Train Program is a full-immersion solution lasting 10-20 days, designed for busy pet parents, where the dog stays at the facility.

The Private Training program provides a tailored, one-on-one experience where pet parents are actively involved in their dog’s progress and skill development. The Day Train program is a hybrid option where dogs are dropped off in the morning and spend the day paired with an expert trainer.

In addition to these programs, they offer Behavior Modification Training to help dogs overcome specific issues such as aggression, high anxiety/fear, high-distraction behaviors, reactivity, and to provide off-leash training and socialization. Follow-up group training is also available after the one-on-one programs.

Testimonials

“We’ve had an absolutely amazing experience with this training facility. Donovan and Jimmy are very knowledgeable, kind, and patient trainers who worked so incredibly well training our dogs as well as training us! Our 10 year old dog has learned to break lifelong bad habits and our lives have been so much easier since dog training started. It is honestly close to a miracle that we can get our timid, shy dog to get comfortable around walking, following our lead, etc. I can’t thank them enough and I can’t recommend them enough for anyone looking for dog training. It was worth every penny!! You will not regret choosing this facility.”

“Before Training with Sit Means Sit: Kiera was a rescue dog we took in when she was only 10 weeks old. Right when she turned 9 months, she began fighting with and injuring our first dog, a 30 lb beagle named Hollie. Kiera, weighing in at 55+ lbs, would turn on Hollie at a moment’s notice, turning our household upside down. My husband and I had to carefully monitor both dogs to make sure that they were securely separated at all times. It was a horrible time to deal with, as we wanted them to be friends and be good company for each other. It got so bad that my husband ended to getting injured while trying to separate one of the many dogfights when Kiera broke out of her secure area. We began looking at different shelters and organizations who would be willing to take her in, for fear that she would seriously hurt or kill Hollie. That’s when I found ‘Sit Means Sit’. From the very first visit to our house, Luke was so reassuring and had full confidence in his system. He assured me that, if we stuck with his program, Kiera would become a well behaved pet and would be controllable. I was so skeptical, but we were out of options and decided to give it a try. After Training with Sit Means Sit: We saw changes in Kiera from the very first lesson. She finally began to take us seriously as her owners, and realized that we meant business. After our individual classes had been completed, we had a perfectly well behaved, sweet natured dog who finally had a way to control her endless energy. Now, the two dogs play together on a daily basis and we have not had one single incident since ‘Sit Means Sit’ entered our lives. We can take her to the dog park or out on a trail anytime we want to, and know without a bit of doubt that she will always come when called, leave it when we ask her to, and obey us 100%. It is the greatest feeling in the world, and has enabled our family to come together more than I thought would be possible. If your dog has an issue, they can solve it and I am so grateful to Sit Means Sit for that.”
