Sit Means Sit Buffalo offers a variety of training programs tailored to individual dog needs. Their Aggressive Dog Training program involves a personalized evaluation, a customized training plan using methods like desensitization, counterconditioning, impulse control, socialization, and confidence building, followed by positive reinforcement and ongoing support. This program aims to reduce reactivity, biting, and anxiety, while improving socialization and building trust.

Dog Behavior Training addresses issues such as aggressive behavior, separation anxiety, socialization, off-leash training, house training, and reactive behavior, all through customized plans, experienced trainers, and positive reinforcement. General obedience training includes one-on-one and behavior training, daycare training, puppy training, and group classes, all starting with an evaluation.

The Day Training program consists of 4 full days of training, with one-on-one private sessions at the end of each day. It also includes 3-6 months of group classes (requiring a subscription from November) and a Sit Means Sit e-collar. This program focuses on correcting behavior problems, teaching new commands, and providing crucial socialization opportunities, with dogs dropped off in the morning and picked up in the evening.

Group Training Classes are designed for clients and their dogs who have completed an initial Sit Means Sit training program, such as Day Train. These 45-minute to one-hour sessions meet three times per week and cover advanced commands like advanced heel, remote sit, and recall, while also focusing on socialization and working with controlled distractions. DHPP and Bordetella vaccinations are required for attendance.

Private Dog Training Lessons offer customized plans with hour-long sessions once a week for four to six weeks at their Buffalo facility. These programs include a Sit Means Sit e-collar and a monthly subscription to Group Classes. They cater to dogs 10 months or older and cover a range of skills including leash pulling, door etiquette, puppy training, crate training, polite bathing, nail trimming, car entry training, and garbage diving prevention.

Testimonials

“I started my dog with Sit Means Sit when she was a puppy. I have been nothing but impressed with their knowledge, expertise in all dog breeds, and willingness and ability to work with and improve behaviors in every dog. I was so happy with the training, I decided to continue to take my dog to classes every week. We continually learn new skills, tricks and obedience. I am happy and my dog is happy. I will recommend Tom Longnecker and his Sit Means Sit to anyone and everyone.”
– Julia B.

“Highly recommend Sit Means Sit. Tom is super knowledgeable and made the process of training easy to understand and fun. He also takes the time to explain the “why” and methodology of how he trains which is extremely helpful. In just four lessons, I have built the basics with my dog that I can continue to build on. Rescuing a 3.5 year old dog, I wasn’t sure that training was possible, but it’s not true what they say, you can teach an old dog new tricks!”
– Justin R.

“Tom has not only unlocked my dogs’ abilities to be the best they can be, but he has also made me a better dog owner. Tom’s patience is inexhaustible and his knowledge of dogs, unparalleled. He has helped me to work through and overcome every behavioral issue I’ve encountered with my own dogs, and I’ve seen him make impressive progress with other dogs that had serious fear, reactivity, separation anxiety, etc. With the foundation you’ll build here, there are no limits to what you and your dog can do together.”
– Rachel K.
