Dog Training Methodology
Methods:
- ✓ Balanced Training
Equipment:
- ✓ E-Collars
Sit Means Sit Dog Training Knoxville offers three main programs: Board and Train, One On One Training (Private Lessons), and Day Stay and Train (Hybrid). Board and Train programs are full-immersion, lasting 5-20 days, designed to fast-track obedience, confidence, and socialization for busy owners.
One On One Training provides personalized sessions where professional trainers teach clients to implement the Sit Means Sit method at home, addressing challenges like come, sit, walk, wait, down, no jumping, play biting, place, quiet, and aggressive or anxious behaviors. The Day Stay and Train program allows dogs to train with professionals during the day and return home in the evening, offering a head start in training.
All programs aim for off-leash control around distractions. Training progresses through three phases: Phase 1 (Teaching/Control) focuses on establishing commands and attention around distractions (6-12+ weeks). Phase 2 (Reinforcement) gradually reduces dependence on training aids while introducing variable reinforcement (6-12+ weeks). Phase 3 (Maintenance) is an ongoing phase where training aids are used minimally, but consistent reinforcement of rules and boundaries is maintained to prevent regression.
