Sit Means Sit Pittsburgh North offers several training programs. The Day Training Sessions combine immersive training with obedience classes, providing one-on-one attention from professional dog trainers to address issues like leash walking, biting, and aggression. This program is ideal for owners seeking direct professional involvement and specialized training for behavioral issues.

The Board & Train Program is designed for busy families, offering a full immersion experience where dogs stay for intensive one-on-one training. This program focuses on developing necessary skills, correcting bad behaviors, and ensuring the dog understands rules, boundaries, and can combat real-world distractions upon return.

The Puppy Management Program targets puppies within their first 20 weeks, focusing on shaping them into well-behaved and obedient dogs. It covers basic housing, potty training, preventing biting/chewing, and helping puppies become comfortable, confident, obedient, and friendly, including loose leash walking and socialization around other dogs.

Private Lessons provide a hands-on, one-on-one experience where owners and their dogs are taught together. These tailored sessions offer 100% of the trainer’s attention, covering specific goals such as doorbell manners, potty training, and preventing jumping on guests. They can also assist with training a dog to become a therapy dog.

Testimonials

“Highly recommend Matt at Sit means Sit. We have a 1 year old French Bulldog that is high energy and very stubborn. With Matts training and guidance using the e-collar for a few months we were able to train our dog to follow several commands. It is so wonderful to have a dog that listens, follows commands and can be off leash. Matt is easy to talk to, will answer all of your questions and give you the tools and guidance you need to train your dog.”
– Karen P

“Matt is a wonderful trainer. When I was having trouble with my Goldendoodle puppy and not sure how to start training her, I contacted Matt. He suggested the Puppy training class (me, puppy and Matt) and what a difference. Matt trained me and my puppy. We still have work to do but I am confident that I will have a wonderful, well-behaved dog. Matt has offered to answer any questions that come up while I am still training Maggie. What a wonderful experience! I am so happy that I found Matt and Sit Means Sit. I highly recommend!”
– Colleen S.

“My bloodhound was not allowing people into the house that did not already live there. She was a scaredy cat, her nickname was “Scooby-Doo”. Because she was so scared she felt the need to go after people, she would have a fear response. I took her to Matt and he helped us build up her confidence and now we can handle new people, loud noises, and new experiences. He always wanted to know the good and bad through training so he could give us the most accurate advice/lessons. The lessons sometimes seemed like they would take a left turn out of nowhere but he really knows what he’s doing because it the end it all came together and she was better than I had hoped she would be. He helped us fix issues that I didn’t even realize were issues and now my dog listens to me better than I had ever anticipated. It also helped that Matt was always there to answer our questions even after our last lesson he still answers. He genuinely cares about his clients. I would highly recommend him to anyone who is looking to train their dog.”
