Sit Means Sit Dog Training – Portland offers several training programs designed to meet unique needs. The Board & Train program provides an immersive experience where pups learn obedience, impulse control, and confidence, followed by a transfer lesson and ongoing support.

The Day Train program combines the immersion of a board-and-train with the flexibility of private lessons, allowing owners to drop off their dog in the morning and pick them up in the evening with a weekly private lesson. Group Classes offer a setting to practice attention, learn tricks, try agility, and strengthen obedience skills in a distracting environment.

Puppy Training focuses on supporting a puppy’s development with professional guidance on structure, boundaries, and social skills. All programs include ongoing support, with dogs invited to attend group classes for life. They also offer individualized one-on-one sessions.

Testimonials

“Kayla has been wonderful and very helpful as we train Scout! The entire Sit Means Sit training program is very helpful for training a dog. I use it every day when I walk Scout.”
– Philip Wentz

“Sit Means Sit has been a blessing! Huckleberry, our 2 year old male Standard Poodle went for the 4-day onboard training. Not only was it a remarkable transformation but with free follow-up classes, he has continued to learn and grow in a positive fashion. A year out we are still attending “Free” classes & continually learning! A total win-win!”
– Mindy Bush

“This program has helped Remy (my pup) and I dramatically. I was skeptical at first with the collar but Remy responded to it right away. We couldn’t have done it without the amazing support of the trainers, especially Halle. Halle approached training with such positive energy and compassion. It’s such a gift to be around someone who truly believes in you. As we have progressed through 1 on 1 training, we were invited to the group class. With Remy being not good with dogs, I was extremely stressed about it but I decided to take a leap of faith. When we came, Remy had a slip up or 2 but the trainers were right on it helping work through the challenges. Overall, I love that I have action steps of things I can do to solidify good behaviors. The 1 on 1 sessions were individualized. The training with the collar was extensive. And the encouragement was spot on. While at first I thought I was paying a lot of money, it has repaid itself several times over. We still have more training to do as we work with other dogs but I am hopeful we can make progress with the trainer’s help.”
– Tessa Reinhart
