Dog Training Methodology

Sit Means Sit Dog Training Salt Lake City offers various training programs tailored to different needs. Private Lessons provide one-on-one training that can take place in the client’s home, local park, trail, or shopping center, allowing families to be involved in the process and learn techniques firsthand.

The Day Train Program is designed for busy pet parents, where dogs are dropped off at the facility in the morning for one-on-one direction, physical, and mental exercise, returning home each night. This program includes a Transfer of Leadership Lesson and follow-up lessons, with an invitation to group classes when ready.

The Board & Train Program offers a 10-20 day full immersion experience where dogs receive 40 hours a week of training from a personal full-time trainer, learning obedience, confidence, and socialization. This program simulates real-life experiences in various Salt Lake City locations to practice avoiding distractions and includes private in-home lessons upon completion.

Group Classes are available after completing an individual training program, focusing on improving social skills and handling severe distractions in an organized learning environment. These classes help keep training skills sharp and improve off-leash control.

They also offer a Therapy Dog Program with testing and certification under their K-9 Caring Angels team, enabling handlers and dogs to give back to the community. Puppy Socialization and Development sessions are specifically for puppies up to 20 weeks old, addressing issues like crate training, potty training, leash introduction, and chewing/biting to prevent future behavior problems and set a strong foundation.

“Sophia, Charlie, and Bella Sit Means Sit has done wonders with my puppies. Sophia went from pulling my arm out when walking her to strolling next to me. Jon made a huge difference and made us a “happier couple”. Then there is my “little puppy” Charlie. She went from crazy puppy behavior to obedient puppy…”
