Sliding S Aussies

Sliding S Aussies, established in 2009, is a dog breeding business specializing in Working Australian Shepherds. The founders, Susan and Ken, have a long history with the breed; Susan has had Aussies since she was five and began obedience training in the 1970s, while Ken developed a love for the breed in 1980.

Their mission is to produce biddable, easy-to-live-with, sociable, and good-tempered dogs with strong working abilities on stock. They focus on the “old style Aussie” and prioritize health, good structure, and movement. All their litters are registered with ASCA and AKC, and their bloodlines primarily include Twin Oaks, Windsong, 45 Ranch, and Slash V.

The business has a strong emphasis on trialing and competition, with Susan starting in 2004 and Ken joining in 2022. Their breeding program has produced highly accomplished dogs, including multiple Stockdog Champions and a Supreme Champion Stockdog.

Accomplishments

Sliding S Aussies was established in 2009. Susan, a founder, has been involved with Aussies since childhood and began obedience training in the 1970s, later taking up trialing in 2004. Ken, the other founder, developed a love for the breed in 1980 and began trialing in 2022.

Their foundation female, Skye, earned the title of ASCA Hall of Fame Dam and produced a Supreme Champion Stockdog, Oakley, who is one of only four in ASCA’s stockdog history. Sliding S Aussies has bred four Stockdog Champions: Oakley, Riddick, Sterling, and Nash, with Oakley also holding the title of Grand Champion Stockdog.

Notable dogs from their lines include Colt, who was a main trial dog and produced highly talented offspring such as Aella, the 2022 ASCA Most Versatile Aussie; McCoy, an AKC Tracking Champion; and Skye, who won the “Do More With Your Dog” Trick Dog Championship in 2019 and became a Grand Champion Trick Dog. Nash earned his WTCH and SDCH, making finals in all three stock categories in 2024. Sharpie earned her started sheep title in two runs. Skye made finals five times (2012, 2013, 2014, 2016, 2018) and won Nationals Sheep and HIT in 2013 and 2014, producing four SDCH’s.
