Testimonials

It has been so rewarding working with Micah at Sound K9. Wally is an 8 month old German Shepherd who was showing signs of dog reactivity, and I wasn’t making much progress using the tools and training methods I learned from a prior training facility and other online resources. Micah’s expert guidance on how to train and play with a working breed dog has been invaluable after only three sessions. He has a depth of knowledge in dog behavior and works organically, based on Wally’s needs and challenges. I went from being afraid to run into dogs on walks to walking Wally with confidence. I have learned how to meet Wally’s needs through play (and train) sessions, and how to create clear structure at home….a win-win for the whole family. The cool thing is that I look forward to working with Wally because it’s mostly play-based, and have the confidence with Micah’s support that I am doing the right thing. No doubt he would be helpful with other dog breeds as well–wish I could have worked with him and my prior labs as well! Thankful for finding him!.

We cannot recommend Micah and Dave enough. Our dog is a rescue with an intense mix of three working breeds, and to say he was a challenge would be an understatement. We don’t know his background and didn’t know his breeds. He was constantly overstimulated, reactive, and misunderstood–even by professionals (this was our third trainer in less than 6 months). Our vet had even suggested medication, but it felt like a band-aid rather than a solution.

Enter Sound K9.

After just two lessons, our dog is completely transformed. I never would’ve believed it if someone told me two months ago that playing with our dog instead of daily walks (which were actually overstimulating him) would lead to better behavior and a calmer demeanor. But Micah and Dave showed us how to truly understand and meet our dog where he’s at–honoring his breed instincts and channeling his energy through engagement, skill-building, and trust.

We’ve developed a completely different relationship with our dog. He’s calmer, more responsive, and clearly trusts us more. The bond we’ve built through play and the tailored techniques Micah and Dave taught us has made all the difference. He’s gone from a reactive, misunderstood pup to a dog that’s focused, connected, and thriving.

Also, the fact that they are so understanding from a scheduling standpoint has been such an added bonus. Life happens, and Micah and Dave has been incredibly flexible when we’ve needed to reschedule. We were already stressed, not seeing the light at the end of the tunnel and unsure what to do with our pup–so not having to worry about strict policies or penalties was a huge relief. It allowed us to focus on what really mattered: helping our dog and building a better relationship with him.

If you have a dog with high drive, complex needs, or a behavior pattern that others have given up on–don’t give up. Call Sound K9! We are so grateful and genuinely blown away by the results in just two sessions!.

I brought my newly adopted 4-year-old dog Nyx to Sound K9 soon after I got her and it was the best decision I could have made. From the beginning it was clear that Micah and Dave enjoy the process of training as much as the result. They have the ideal blend of technical skill and empathy with dogs.

I learned how to change my technique and energy level to both motivate and bond with my new dog. We worked on many different topics from basic leash training and obedience to integrating my new dog with our resident cats. Lots of fun to see her learning to solve problems and make good choices. Nyx enjoyed training so much she started barking joyously when we turned into the parking lot each session.

Thanks so much for sharing your expertise. Our cats are really grateful too.
Highly recommended.
